Berryz Kobo Special Best Vol. 1
is the 1st compilation album by the Japanese girl idol group Berryz Kobo, released in Japan on January 14, 2009, on the record label Piccolo Town. The CD appeared less than 2 months before Berryz Kobo's 5th anniversary. It contained material selected from 18 singles and 6 albums the group had released so far. There's also one new track, "Otoko no Ko", which opens the album. All songs on the compilation, except one ("Dschinghis Khan", which is a cover of the German band of the same name), are written and produced by Tsunku. The album was released in two editions: regular (PKCP-5132) and limited (PKCP-5130/1). The Limited Edition came with a DVD containing bonus videos, while the first press of the Regular Edition had a bonus photo card sealed in. The album debuted at number 4 in the Oricon Daily Albums Chart and eventually ranked 11th for the week. "Madayade" is the only Berryz Kobo's hit that can't be found on any other their album to date. Dschinghis Khan (song)
"Dschinghis Khan" (; "Genghis Khan") is a song by German disco group Dschinghis Khan. It was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 and released as the first single from the group's debut album, ''Dschinghis Khan'' (1979). It was a number one hit in West Germany, and a top 10 hit also in Austria, Finland, Norway and Switzerland. Cover versions by a number of other artists were subsequently released as singles and album tracks. Maasa Sudō
is a Japanese actress, singer, and tarento. She is a former member of Berryz Kobo, a J-pop idol group within Hello! Project. Career Sudo was born in Tokyo. In 2002, she successfully passed the Hello! Project Kids audition. Sudo was a member of the group Berryz Kobo from 2004 to 2015. In March 2009, she released her first Photobook, called "Maasa". Maiha Ishimura
was a Japanese girl group formed by Up-Front Promotion in 2004 and associated with Hello! Project. The group's members consisted of Hello! Project Kids members Saki Shimizu, Momoko Tsugunaga, Miyabi Natsuyaki, Chinami Tokunaga, Maasa Sudo, Yurina Kumai, and Risako Sugaya; Maiha Ishimura left the group in 2005. Risako Sugaya
is a former Japanese singer and actress. She first gained recognition when she joined Hello! Project Kids and later became one of the lead vocalists of the girl group Berryz Kobo from 2004 to 2015. Miyabi Natsuyaki
is a Japanese singer. Her career began in 2002 when she passed the audition for Hello! Project Kids, an all-female child pop group under Hello! Project. She continued to sing in that group and became a part of four smaller groups composed of Hello! Project Kids members—Aa!, Sexy Otonajan, Buono! and Berryz Kobo. Momoko Tsugunaga
is a former Japanese singer, actress, and radio personality. Tsugunaga joined Hello! Project as a member of Hello! Project Kids at the age of 10 and later became part of the girl groups Berryz Kobo and Buono! Following Berryz Kobo's hiatus, she became the playing manager of Country Girls.
