Bernard Nkawa
Brigadier General Bernard Nkawa was a Namibian military officer whose last appointment was as Defence Attaché to DRC. Career PLAN career Nkawa's military career began in Peoples Liberation Army of Namibia, the military wing of SWAPO in 1975 and received military training at Oshatotwa in the Western Province of Zambia. He was then deployed to PLAN's Eastern Front covering Zambia and the Zambezi region. From 1977 to 1979 he attended a Battalion Commander course in the USSR. Upon completion of his studies he returned to Zambia and then transferred to Angola, as 2nd Brigade training commander at Tobias Hainyeko Training Center from 1980 to 1982. Then afterwards he was appointed chief instructor for Namibian instructors delegated to train special units of FAPLA in guerrilla tactics from 1982 to 1983. Mandume Ya Ndemufayo Operation Ribbon
Mandume ya Ndemufayo (1894 – 6 February 1917) was the last king of the Oukwanyama, a subset of the Ovambo people of southern Angola and northern Namibia. Zambezi Region
The Zambezi Region is one of the 14 regions of Namibia. It is located in the north-eastern part of the country. It is largely concurrent with the major Zambezi River where it gets its name from.
