Beograd Disk
Jugodisk was a record label was established in 1968, in the then Socialist Republic of Serbia in SFR Yugoslavia in Belgrade, today Serbia. Before 1981, it was known as Beograd Disk. In 2003, the company was sold at a state auction to the show business manager Nenad Kapor and since then it operates as Jugodisk A.D. (joint stock company). History Jugodisk was established in 1968, in the then Socialist Republic of Serbia in SFR Yugoslavia, hence its name is a portmanteau word of ''Jugoslavija'' (Yugoslavia) and ''disk'' (for a vinyl record). Badmingtons (in Macedonian: Бадмингтонс) were a prominent Macedonian punk rock band. Biography Badmingtons were formed in 1983 in Skopje, then SR Macedonia (now the Republic of Macedonia) by Vladimir Petrovski - Karter (guitar and vocals), Dean Škartov - Deko (keyboards) and Boris Georgiev - But (drums). Previously, Karter had played in one of the line-ups of Fol Jazik (the first punk band in Skopje, formed 1978) and later in Saraceni, another legendary punk group, which also featured the now-internationally acclaimed musician Goran Trajkoski. Boris Georgiev was a former drummer in Jadro, which included members from several countries, as well as in the bands Pop and Dizajn. Slobodan "Boba" Stefanović ( sr-cyr, Слободан "Боба" Стефановић; 21 May 1946 – 9 February 2015) was a Serbian and SFRY, Yugoslav singer and songwriter. He was one of the leading stars of the Popular music in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav pop scene in the 1970s. Stefanović started his musical career in 1962 as the vocalist of the Rock music, rock band Zlatni Dečaci, with which he achieved nationwide popularity. He left the band in 1967, deciding to dedicate himself to his solo career. He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Dramatic Arts and during the late 1960s and the 1970s he released three studio albums and a large number of EPs and 7" singles with which he achieved large mainstream popularity. Sanjalice ( sr-Cyrl, Сањалице, trans. ''The Dreamers'') were a Yugoslav rock band formed in Belgrade in 1964. Sanjalice are notable for being one of the pioneers of the Yugoslav rock scene, as well as one of the first Yugoslav all-female bands. History Sanjalice were formed at the end of 1964, when three female friends, Ljiljana Mandić, Slobodanka Miščević and Ljiljana Jevtić, all three living in the same building, decided to form a band influenced by the Beach Boys and the Walker Brothers. Rok Mašina ( sr-cyr, Рок Машина; trans. ''Rock Machine'') was a short-lasting Yugoslav hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Belgrade in 1980. Formed by former members of the progressive/hard rock band Pop Mašina Robert Nemeček (vocals and bass guitar) and brothers Zoran and Vidoja Božinović (guitars), Rok Mašina released only one studio album, ''Rok Mašina'', before disbanding in 1982, while in the midst of recording of their second album. Partibrejkers (Serbian Cyrillic: Партибрејкерс, transliteration for: ''Partybreakers'') is a Serbian rock band from Belgrade, as well as one of the most acclaimed acts of the Yugoslav rock scene. Hanka Paldum (born 28 April 1956) is a Bosnian sevdalinka singer and founder of the record label Sarajevo Disk. She is regarded as one of the best female sevdah performers of the 20th century and is popular in her home country of Bosnia as well as in the rest of the former Yugoslavia. Biography 1956–71: Early life and family Hanka Paldum was born in the eastern Bosnian town of Čajniče to Muslim Bosniak parents Mujo and Pemba. Paldum has an older brother Mustafa and two sisters, Raza and Rasema. Oktobar 1864 ( sr-cyr, Октобар 1864; trans. ''October 1864'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band. Biography 1984 – 1992 Oktobar 1864 was formed in 1984 in Zemun by Goran Tomanović and have changed several line-ups before they won the Best demo Band Award at the MESAM festival in 1986. Goran Tomanović looked for first band members over the newspaper ads. The band had its first big performance in 1985 when they performed in Taš club in Belgrade, and that is when Tanja Jovićević, the band's lead singer, joined the group. Srđan Marjanović ( sr-cyr, Срђан Марјановић) is a Serbian singer-songwriter from Belgrade. Musical career Early career Marjanović was born in 1952 in Banja Luka. In 1961, he moved to Belgrade, where he became interested in rock music. He played guitar in the bands Svici (''Fireflys''), Usamljeni (''The Lonely Ones'') and Gru. Dalibor Andonov ( sr-Cyrl, Далибор Андонов, ; 8 March 1973 – 9 September 2019), known professionally as Gru, was a Serbian rapper, musician and DJ. His song '' Biću tu'' from the 1996 album ''Gru 2'', gained him popularity in Eastern Europe, as well as the 2010 release ''I dalje me žele'' alongside Serbian rapper Ajs Nigrutin. His album ''Gru 2'' is the most commercially successful album in Serbia, selling four million copies, and reaching certified gold status in Serbia.
