Benno Siggil Senegaal
United to Boost Senegal ( wo, Bennoo Siggil Senegaal, BSS) is a Senegalese Political coalition, active in the 22 March 2009 Municipal elections in that country. The coalition is made up of members of a number of parties opposed to President of Senegal, President Abdoulaye Wade's ruling Senegalese Democratic Party (Parti Démocratique Sénégalais) and its Sopi Coalition. Coalition partners include the Socialist Party of Senegal, Alliance of the Forces of Progress (Senegal), Alliance of the Forces of Progress, Front for Socialism and Democracy/Benno Jubël, and Reform Movement for Social Development. Dakar
Dakar ( ; ; wo, Ndakaaru) (from daqaar ''tamarind''), is the capital and largest city of Senegal. The city of Dakar proper has a population of 1,030,594, whereas the population of the Dakar metropolitan area is estimated at 3.94 million in 2021. Kaffrine (Wolof: Kafrin) is the capital town of Kaffrine Region of Senegal. Agriculture Kaffrine lies in Senegal's Peanut Basin. Peanuts are the second most common crop for the people of Kaffrine, only behind Millet. Both crops are grown by over 90% of farmers in Kaffrine. Maize is the third most popular crop and grown by over 85% of farmers. Podor
Podor (Wolof: Podoor) is the northernmost town in Senegal, lying on Morfil Island between the Sénégal River and Doué River on the border with Mauritania. It was the location of the ancient state Takrur. It is home to a ruined French colonial fort, built in 1854 as a centre for gold trading, and is the birthplace of fashion designer Oumou Sy, as well as musicians Baaba Maal and Mansour Seck. Louga
Louga ( ar, لوجا; Wolof: Luga) is a town in northwestern Senegal. Louga is a cattle market centre, and has road and rail links with the port city of Saint-Louis to the northwest and Dakar to the southwest. The area surrounding Louga is at the northern limits of Senegal's peanut- (groundnut-) growing area and is inhabited by the Fulani, who are generally pastoral nomads, and the Wolof, who are sedentary farmers. Joal-Fadiouth
Joal-Fadiouth is a town and commune in the Thiès Region at the end of the Petite Côte of Senegal, south-east of Dakar. ''Joal'' lies on the mainland, while ''Fadiouth'', linked by a bridge, lies on an island of clam shells, which are also used in local architecture and crafts. The village has no motorised transport evidenced by the sign on entering. It has large Christian and Muslim populations with cemeteries on another shell island. Saint Louis or Saint-Louis ( wo, Ndar), is the capital of Senegal's Saint-Louis Region. Located in the northwest of Senegal, near the mouth of the Senegal River, and 320 km north of Senegal's capital city Dakar, it has a population officially estimated at 258,592 in 2021. Saint-Louis was the capital of the French colony of Senegal from 1673 until 1902 and French West Africa from 1895 until 1902, when the capital was moved to Dakar. Cheikh Bamba Dieye is a Senegalese politician who has served in the government of Senegal as Minister of Regional Planning and Local Government since April 2012.
