Benjamín Kuscevic
Benjamín Kuscevic Jaramillo (; born 2 May 1996) is a Chilean Association football, footballer who currently plays as centre-back for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Fortaleza Esporte Clube, Fortaleza, on loan from Coritiba Foot Ball Club, Coritiba. Career Universidad Católica Kuscevic joined Club Deportivo Universidad Católica, Universidad Católica's youth setup in 2011, from Unión Española. After progressing through the youth setup, he signed a professional contract with the club in 2013. Kuscevic made his first team debut on 18 May 2014, in a match against Curicó Unido for the 2014–15 Copa Chile. Loan to Real Madrid On 29 August 2014, Kuscevic moved on loan to Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid, for one year. The 2017 Campeonato Nacional season, known as Campeonato Nacional de Transición Scotiabank 2017 for sponsorship purposes, was the 87th season of top-flight football in Chile. Colo-Colo won their thirty-second title following a 3–0 away win at Huachipato on 9 December. Universidad de Chile were the defending champions. Format changes Starting in 2017, the ANFP approved a change from the European calendar season (July-May) that had been used since 2013 to a calendar year season (February-December). The year calendar would have been implemented for the 2017 season, however, it was postponed for one year. In order to manage this transition, the 2017 Clausura tournament, part of the 2016–17 season, was followed up by a single championship in the second semester of the year. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The competition has had several formats over its lifetime. Initially, only the champions of the South American leagues participated. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, named as ''Copa Sudamericana'' (; pt, Copa Sul-Americana ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 2002. It is the second-most prestigious club competition in South American football. CONCACAF clubs were invited between 2004 and 2008. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana began in 2002, replacing the separate competitions Copa Merconorte and Copa Mercosur (that had replaced Copa CONMEBOL) by a single competition. Since its introduction, the competition has been a pure elimination tournament with the number of rounds and teams varying from year to year. Gary Alexis Medel Soto (; born 3 August 1987) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays for Italian club Bologna and the Chile national team as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder.
