Bengt Svensson
Generalmajor (Sweden), Major General Bengt Allan Svensson (born 24 February 1958) is a retired Swedish Army officer. Svensson served as Assistant Chief of Armed Forces Training & Procurement from 2012 to 2014. Career Svensson was born on 24 February 1958 in Karlskrona, Sweden. He graduated from the Military Academy Karlberg in 1982 and was commissioned as an officer and assigned to the Scanian Anti-Aircraft Corps, Scanian Anti-Aircraft Regiment in Ystad with the rank of ''fänrik''. He was promoted to captain in 1983 and attended the Artillery and Engineering College in Stockholm from 1984 to 1985. He then served as platoon leader in Cyprus within the Swedish contingent of United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) in 1986. Karlskrona (, , ) is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with a population of 66,675 in 2018. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden's only baroque city and is host to Sweden's largest naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard. The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is a trade association for the United States government and defense industrial base. It is an 501(c)3 educational organization. Its headquarters are in Arlington, Virginia. NDIA was established in 1919 as a result of the inability of the defense industry to scale up the war effort during World War I. Founding In 1917, Brigadier General Benedict Crowell was called to active duty and served on the General Munitions Board. NATO Defense College (NDC) is the international military college for North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries. It is located in Rome, Italy. History The idea of a NATO Defense College originated with General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the first Supreme Allied Commander Europe, who identified very early on the need for a new international institution with a unique education mission. On 19 November 1951, the NATO Defense College opened its doors to Course 1 in Paris. In 1966, France withdrew from the Alliance's integrated military structure and the College moved to the EUR quartier of Rome, where it continues to fulfil its mission. The United States Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC or, obsolete, USACGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, is a graduate school for United States Army and sister service officers, interagency representatives, and international military officers. The college was established in 1881 by William Tecumseh Sherman as the School of Application for Infantry and Cavalry (later simply the Infantry and Cavalry School), a training school for infantry and cavalry officers.
