Ben Mines
Benjamin Mines (born May 13, 2000) is an American soccer player who currently plays as a midfielder for Indy Eleven in the USL Championship. Youth soccer Mines joined the New York Red Bulls Academy in 2015, playing for the U-16 side during the 2015–16 season. He also appeared for United Soccer League side New York Red Bulls II in 2016, signing on an amateur contract. He made his debut for New York Red Bulls II on August 19, 2016, coming on as a second-half substitute for Junior Flemmings in a 1–0 victory over Louisville City FC. Mines remained with Red Bulls II under an amateur contract during the 2017 season, making his season debut in a 3–3 draw against Pittsburgh Riverhounds. On May 20, 2017, Mines scored his first goal for the club in a 4–3 loss to Ottawa Fury FC. Tyler Gibson (born January 12, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for USL Championship club Louisville City. 2018 USL Season
The 2018 USL season was the eighth season of the United Soccer League and second under Division II sanctioning. The previous season, the USL had provisional Div. II sanctioning from the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) along with the North American Soccer League, but was given full sanctioning for the 2018 season with a two-year deadline to meet the full requirements set by U.S. Soccer. Louisville City FC were the defending USL Cup champions, while Real Monarchs were the defending Supporters’ Shield champions. This season was the last for four teams in the USL, with all changing leagues for 2019 and beyond. FC Cincinnati will join Major League Soccer. In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. A loan fee can be arranged by the parent club as well as them asking to pay a percentage of their wages. Association football Players may be loaned out to other clubs for several reasons. Most commonly, young prospects will be loaned to a club in a lower league in order to gain invaluable first team experience.
