Ben Mason (golfer)
Ben Mason (born 2 March 1977) is an English professional golfer. Professional career Mason turned professional in 1999 after a successful amateur career which included reaching the semifinals of The Amateur Championship in 1998. He joined the second-tier Challenge Tour in 2001 and from 2003 to 2005 he played full-time on the European Tour, where his best finish was second in the 2003 Aa St Omer Open. However he never finished within the top 120 money earners who maintain their tour rights automatically; his best Order of Merit finish was 134th in 2005. In 2006 Mason returned to playing the Challenge Tour full-time, where he recorded his first professional win in 2007 at the Open Mahou de Madrid. Dewsbury
Dewsbury is a minster and market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It lies on the River Calder and on an arm of the Calder and Hebble Navigation waterway. Leeds Cup
The Leeds Cup is a golf tournament that has been played annually in northern England since 1902. The event is organised by the north region of the Professional Golfers' Association. It is the oldest trophy in professional golf that is still played for. The Tooting Bec Cup is older, having been first played for in 1901, but is no longer contested. The Leeds Challenge Cup was first contested in May 1902 at Leeds Golf Club. The trophy was presented by Alderman Penrose-Green, Lord Mayor of Leeds and President of Leeds Golf Club to be competed for annually by professional golfers. Harry Vardon was the first winner. 2015 marked the 100th staging of the event. Kyron Sullivan
Kyron Sullivan (born 22 June 1976) is a Welsh professional golfer. Sullivan attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff and briefly worked as an IT analyst before deciding to attempt professional golf in 2002. He spent two years playing on the PGA EuroPro Tour and a further three on the Challenge Tour, where he won for the first time in 2006. This helped him to fifth place in the rankings, earning him a place on the European Tour for 2007. Sullivan ended his debut year 131st in the Order of Merit, just outside the players who automatically retained their cards, but he still gained entry to several events in 2008. Since 2009, he has returned to the Challenge Tour full-time. In 2008, Sullivan also won the South Wales Open. The 2006 Challenge Tour was the 18th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. The Challenge Tour Rankings were won by Wales' Mark Pilkington. Álvaro Velasco (golfer)
Álvaro Velasco Roca (born 15 May 1981) is a Spanish professional golfer. Velasco was born in Barcelona and attended Coastal Carolina University on a golf scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He turned professional in 2005 and worked his way through the ranks graduating to the top level European Tour in 2008. Velasco finished 100th on the Order of Merit in 2008, but fell back to the second tier Challenge Tour in 2010 having finished 189th in the Race to Dubai rankings in 2009. He recorded the biggest win of his career at the 2010 Fred Olsen Challenge de España, before trumping this by winning the Kazakhstan Open, the Challenge Tour's biggest event.
