Ben Leach
Ben Leach (born 2 May 1969 in Liverpool, England) was the keyboard and synthesizer player in the Liverpool-based pop music, pop band, The Farm (British band), The Farm. He joined in 1988 when the band acquired another brass section playing trumpet (also including Bobby Bilsborough on saxophone and David Peel on trombone). When the band decided to drop the brass section in early 1990, Ben became the keyboard player. He was with them at the height of their success in autumn and early winter of 1990, when they achieved chart success with "Groovy Train" and "All Together Now (The Farm song), All Together Now". He later went on to become keyboard player for the second incarnation of Happy Mondays in the late 1990s. The Farm are a British band from Liverpool. Their first album, ''Spartacus'', reached the top position on the UK Albums Chart when it was released in March 1991; ''Spartacus 30'' was released in 2021 to commemorate the anniversary. ''Spartacus'' includes two songs which had been top 10 singles the year before. In 2012, they toured with their Spartacus Live shows and formed part of the Justice Tonight Band, supporting the Stone Roses at Heaton Park, Phoenix Park, Lyon and Milan. "Groovy Train" was the second single released by Liverpool-based group The Farm. It was released in 1990 as the first single from their debut album ''Spartacus'' (which would be in 1991), having been produced by Graham "Suggs" McPherson of Madness and Terry Farley. The single reached no. 6 on the UK Singles Chart, no. 41 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and no. 15 on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. It contains a distinctive guitar intro by Keith Mullin which was possibly his most significant contribution to any one song. All Together Now (The Farm Song)
"All Together Now" is a song by British band the Farm, released in November 1990 as the second single from their debut album, ''Spartacus'' (1991). Peter Hooton wrote the lyrics in his early 20s, after reading about the Christmas truce of 1914. The song was first recorded under the title "No Man's Land" for a John Peel session in 1983. In 1990, Hooton wrote the chorus after Steve Grimes suggested putting the lyrics of "No Man's Land" to the chord progression of Pachelbel's Canon. To shorten the song for radio, the producer Suggs cut the song to three verses from its original six. Its accompanying music video received heavy rotation on MTV Europe. "All Together Now" has been used by numerous football teams since, as well as by the Labour Party for their 2017 general election campaign, often played during rallies. Happy Mondays are an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up was Shaun Ryder (vocals), his brother Paul Ryder ( bass), Gary Whelan (drums), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Mark Day (guitar). Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer/percussionist. Rowetta joined as a second vocalist in 1990. They were initially signed to Tony Wilson's Factory Records label.
