Beluga Whale

The Airbus A300-600ST (Super Transporter), or Beluga, is a version of the standard A300-600 wide-body airliner modified to carry aircraft parts and outsize cargo. It received the official name of ''Super Transporter'' early on; however, the name ''Beluga'', a whale it resembles, gained popularity and has since been officially adopted. Airbus BelugaXL
The Airbus BelugaXL (A330-743L) is a large transport aircraft based on the Airbus A330-200F built by Airbus to replace the original Airbus Beluga to move oversized aircraft components, such as wings. The aircraft made its first flight on 19 July 2018, and received its type certification on 13 November 2019. The BelugaXL entered service with Airbus Transport on 9 January 2020. Development In 2013, the five original Belugas could not cope with production growth, and Airbus evaluated the Antonov An-124 and An-225, Boeing C-17 or Dreamlifter, and A400M, before choosing to modify one of its own aircraft. Beluga is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. The population was 20 at the 2010 census, down from 32 in 2000. Geography Beluga is located in the northern part of Kenai Peninsula Borough at (61.133962, -151.164741), on the northwest side of Cook Inlet. The community is on the Alaskan mainland rather than the Kenai Peninsula proper. It is bordered to the north by Matanuska-Susitna Borough and to the south by the Tyonek CDP. Access is by air or by water, as the road network is local only. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 0.72%, are water.
