Alexis Belton (born June 9, 1993) is a World Long Drive competitor from Ruston, La. Belton competes in events that are sanctioned by the World Long Drive Association, which is owned by Golf Channel, part of the NBC Sports Group, and a division of Comcast. The season-long schedule features events airing live on Golf Channel, culminating in the Volvik World Long Drive Championship in September. World Long Drive career Belton earned her first World Long Drive Tour event victory at the 2018 Clash in the Canyon (Nevada), and also finished runner-up at the Tennessee Big Shots benefiting Niswonger Children's Hospital, which both aired live on Golf Channel. In 2017, Belton reached the semifinals at the Volvik World Long Drive Championship (Oklahoma) in her first-ever competition. Jack Belton
John Belton (died 23 February 1963) was an Irish politician, builder and publican. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North-East constituency at the 1948 general election. He was re-elected at the 1951, 1954, 1957 and 1961 general elections. He died in office in February 1963 and the by-election held on 30 May 1963 was won by his brother Paddy Belton. He served as Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1950 to 1951. Patrick Belton (25 June 1926 – 22 May 1987) was an Irish politician, company director and publican. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) at the Dublin North-East by-election held on 30 May 1963 caused by the death of his brother Jack Belton. He was re-elected for Dublin North-East at the 1965, 1969 and 1973 general elections. He lost his seat at the 1977 general election. Luke Belton
Luke Belton (9 August 1918 – 18 June 2006) was an Irish Fine Gael politician. A publican from Rathcline, County Longford, he unsuccessfully contested the 1961 general election and was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North-Central constituency at the 1965 general election. He continued to be re-elected for the constituency (renamed Dublin Finglas in 1977) until losing his seat at the 1981 general election when he stood in the Dublin Central constituency. He was again unsuccessful at the February 1982 election and the 1987 general election and then retired from politics. He was defeated in the Seanad election of 1981, but was elected to the Administrative Panel of the 16th Seanad in early 1982, and re-elected to serve in the 17th Seanad from 1983 to 1987. Louis Belton
Louis J. Belton (30 November 1943 – 11 November 2023) was an Irish Fine Gael politician from Kenagh, County Longford, and the seventh member of the Belton family to be elected to the Oireachtas. Formerly a building society employee, Belton was a member of Longford County Council from 1979 to 1999. He was elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1989 general election as Teachta Dála (TD) for the Longford–Westmeath constituency, but lost his seat at the 1992 general election when contesting the revised Longford–Roscommon constituency. However, he was then elected to the 20th Seanad Éireann in 1993, when he topped the poll for the Administrative Panel. He regained his Dáil seat at the 1997 general election but lost it again at the 2002 general election to Mae Sexton of the Progressive Democrats. He did not contest the 2007 general election. Kimberly Belton (born April 2, 1958) is an American sports producer and former basketball player. He starred while playing collegiately for the Stanford Cardinal men's basketball, Stanford Cardinal, where he led the team in scoring for two seasons and was a three-time List of All-Pac-12 Conference men's basketball teams, All-Pac-12 selection. Belton set program scoring records in total points and rebounds. He was inducted to the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Pac-12 Conference Hall of Honor in 2016. John Belton is Professor Emeritus of English and Film at Rutgers University. He is editor of the Film and Culture series at Columbia University Press and associate editor of SMPTE's ''Motion Imaging Journal''. He earned his PhD from Harvard University and specializes in film history and cultural studies. Belton has served on the National Film Preservation Board, as chair of the Board of Editors of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, and authored numerous books.
