Belmont Hill School (Massachusetts)
Belmont Hill School is an independent boys school on a campus in Belmont, a suburb of Boston. The school enrolls approximately 440 students in grades 7–12, separated into the Middle School (grades 7–9) and the Upper School (grades 10–12), and refers to these grades as "Forms" with a Roman Numeral I through VI. While the majority of attending students are day students, there are some who enroll in the school's five-day boarding program, which becomes an option for students in their 9th grade year. History The school was founded in 1923 by a group of seven incorporators seeking a non-boarding institution for their sons that would allow for small classes and personal accountability. At the time of its incorporation, the location atop Belmont Hill was not yet developed and belonged to the Belmont Hill Trust. Jay Civetti
Jay P. Civetti Jr. (born May 11, 1979) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Tufts University, a position he has held since the 2011 season. During his time at Tufts, Civetti helped end the school's 31-game losing streak, and he later led the team to three consecutive winning seasons. Pre-Tufts career Civetti attended Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts. Having been recruited by coach Don Miller, Civetti played college football as an offensive lineman at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut from 1997 to 2000. Connor Brickley (born February 25, 1992) is an American former professional hockey center, who played with the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Thomas Winship
Thomas Winship (July 1, 1920 – March 14, 2002) was an American journalist who served as editor of ''The Boston Globe'' from 1965 until 1984. Biography Winship was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and soon after moved to Sudbury. He graduated from Belmont Hill School in 1938. He made the first ascent of Alaska's Mount Bertha in 1940. He graduated from Harvard in 1942, where he founded the ski club. Winship's paternal grandfather, Albert Edward Winship, was an editor of the ''Journal of Education''. His father, Laurence L. Winship, joined ''The Boston Globe'' in 1912, became managing editor in 1937, and was named editor in 1955. Robin Moore
Robert Lowell Moore Jr. (October 31, 1925 – February 21, 2008) was an American writer who wrote '' The Green Berets'', '' The French Connection: A True Account of Cops, Narcotics, and International Conspiracy'', and with Xaviera Hollander and Yvonne Dunleavy, '' The Happy Hooker: My Own Story''. Moore co-authored the lyrics for the " Ballad of the Green Berets", which was one of the major hit songs of 1966.
