Bellis Fair is an enclosed shopping mall in Bellingham, Washington, United States. Opened on August 4, 1988, it features JCPenney, Kohl's, Macy's, Macy's, Macy's Home Store, Dick's Sporting Goods, DSW, Inc., DSW, H&M, Forever 21, Ashley Furniture, and Target Corporation, Target. The mall is located along Interstate 5 in Washington, Interstate 5 at its interchange with Washington State Route 539, State Route 539 (Guide Meridian Road) north of downtown Bellingham. History Bellis Fair opened in August 1988, at the site of a former USDA Soil Conservation Service plant-materials center. Bellingham ( ) is the most populous city in, and county seat of Whatcom County in the U.S. state of Washington. On March 18, 2000, joggers along a road near the Mount Baker Highway in Whatcom County, Washington, United States, reported seeing a wrecked vehicle at the bottom of an embankment near Canyon Creek, a tributary of the North Fork of the Nooksack River. Investigating deputy sheriffs found a white 1993 Jeep Cherokee with North Carolina license plates. Mervyn's was an American middle-scale department store chain based in Hayward, California, and founded by Mervin G. Morris (1920–2021). It carried national brands of clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture, jewelry, beauty products, electronics, and housewares. Many of the company's stores were opened in shopping malls; however, some locations were operated independently. Based on 2005 revenue, Mervyn's was the 83rd largest retailer in the United States.
