Bellinzona–Mesocco Railway
The Bellinzona–Mesocco railway ( it, Ferrovia Bellinzona–Mesocco; BM) was a Swiss metre gauge railway that linked the towns of Bellinzona, in the canton of Ticino and Mesocco, in the canton of Graubünden. The line was built by the ''Società Anonima della Ferrovia Elettrica Bellinzona-Mesocco'' and later became part of the Rhaetian Railway. Before complete closure, the section of the line between Castione-Arbedo, and Cama was operated by the ''Società Esercizio Ferroviario Turistico'' (SEFT) as a tourist railway known as the ''Ferrovia Mesolcinese''. Project and construction The Gotthard railway opened in 1882, providing a transport link to the communities of the valley of the Ticino River. Val Mesolcina
The ''Valle Mesolcina'', also known as the ''Val Mesolcina'' or ''Misox'' (German), is an alpine valley of the Grisons, Switzerland, stretching from the San Bernardino Pass to Grono where it joins the Calanca Valley. It is the valley formed by the river Moesa. Like the Val Bregaglia or the Val Poschiavo, the Valle Mesolcina is a valley lying south of the main ridge of the Alps. Although politically the Valle Mesolcina belongs to the Grisons, its population is predominantly Italian-speaking and culturally oriented towards the Ticino. Appenzell Railways (german: Appenzeller Bahnen, AB) is a Swiss railway company with headquarters in Herisau. It operates a network of railways in the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, St. Gallen and Thurgau. Töss
Töss is a district in the Swiss city of Winterthur. It is district number 4. The district comprises the quarters Schlosstal, Dättnau, Eichliacker and Rossberg. It is named after the river Töss which flows through the district. In the Middle Ages, the village was renowned as the location of the Töss nunnery, where Elizabeth of Hungary and Elsbeth Stagel were the nuns. The latter described the lives of its nuns in some detail. Töss was formerly a municipality of its own, but was incorporated into Winterthur in 1922. The Rhaetian Railway (german: Rhätische Bahn; it, Ferrovia retica; rm, Viafier retica), abbreviated RhB, is a Swiss transport company that owns the largest network of all private railway operators in Switzerland. Headquartered in Chur, the RhB operates all the railway lines of the Swiss canton of Grisons, except for the line from Sargans to the cantonal capital, Chur, which are operated by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS), as well as the line from Disentis/Mustér to the Oberalp Pass and further on to Andermatt, Uri, which is operated by Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB).
