Beldon, Western Australia
Beldon is a small suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Joondalup, to the north of Craigie. Etymology There are two possible origins for naming the suburb Beldon. The first possible origin is that it is named after A.W. Beldon who was an early landowner and surveyor of the Wanneroo area, active around 1838. The second possibility is that it is named after Arthur and Florence Beldon who ran Wanneroo School from 1945 until 1965. History Prior to white settlement in Western Australia, the land was inhabited by the Nyoongar aboriginal people for 40,000 years and who had crisscrossed the area from inland to the coast during various times of the year. When the suburb was proposed in 1974, Albert Grove was suggested as a name after one of the co-developers Jennings Industries which was owned by Sir Albert V Jennings. Ocean Reef Road is an arterial east-west road in Perth, Western Australia. It is located within the northern suburbs of Perth, from Ocean Reef in the west, to Landsdale in the east, with a portion travelling northwards along the coast to Iluka. Mitchell Freeway
The Mitchell Freeway is a freeway in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking central Perth with the city of Joondalup. It is the northern section of State Route 2, which continues south as Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway. Along its length are interchanges with several major roads, including the Graham Farmer Freeway and Reid Highway. The southern terminus of the Mitchell Freeway is at the Narrows Bridge, which crosses the Swan River, and the northern terminus is at Hester Avenue, Clarkson, a suburb within the City of Wanneroo. Marmion Avenue is a arterial road in the northern coastal suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking Trigg in the south with Yanchep in the north. It forms part of State Route 71 along with West Coast Highway, which it joins onto at its southern terminus. Route Description Marmion Avenue is part of State Route 71, from the southern terminus to Hester Avenue, continuing on from West Coast Highway. It commences in Trigg, traveling generally parallel with the Indian Ocean coastline, and the other north-south arterials Mitchell Freeway and Wanneroo Road, through mostly residential areas and some undeveloped land north of Currambine, and terminates in Yanchep. The Joondalup line is a commuter rail service in Western Australia, linking the Perth central business district (CBD) with the Perth metropolitan region, metropolitan area's north-western suburbs. The service is operated on the Northern Suburbs Railway by Transperth Train Operations, a division of the Public Transport Authority (Western Australia), Public Transport Authority, and is part of the Transperth network. Edgewater Railway Station
Edgewater railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network. It is located on the Joondalup line, 23 kilometres from Perth station serving the suburb of Edgewater. History Edgewater station opened on 20 December 1992 in the median strip of the Mitchell Freeway. In 2003, the contract for extending the platforms on seven Joondalup line stations, including Edgewater station, was awarded to Lakis Constructions. The platforms on these stations had to be extended by to accommodate long six car trains, which were planned to enter service. Along with the extensions, the platform edges were upgraded to bring them into line with tactile paving standards. Whitfords Railway Station
Whitfords railway station is a railway station located on the boundary of Padbury and Kingsley, suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Joondalup railway line, which is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It is located in the median of the Mitchell Freeway, and consists of an elevated bus interchange on top of an island platform at ground level. South of Whitfords, trains run every 5 minutes during peak. North of Whitfords, trains run every 10 minutes during peak. Between peak during the day, trains run every 15 minutes.
