Haidian District () is a district of the municipality of Beijing. It is mostly situated in northwestern Beijing, but also to a lesser extent in the west, where it has borders with Xicheng District and Fengtai District. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Line 16, Beijing Subway
Line 16 of the Beijing Subway () is a rapid transit rail line in Beijing. Currently, the line is in length with 16 stations. It will be with 30 stations when fully completed. The line is fully underground. Construction began in December 2013. The northern section, from to was opened on 31 December 2016. An infill station, was opened on December 30, 2017.
