Geoffrey Beene (born Samuel Albert Bozeman Jr.; August 30, 1924 – September 28, 2004) was an American fashion designer. Beene was one of New York's most famous fashion designers, recognized for his artistic and technical skills and for creating simple, comfortable and dressy women's wear. In 2018, the Geoffrey Beene brand was acquired by PVH who previously produced the brand under license. On June 23, 2021, it was announced that the Geoffrey Beene brand would be sold to Authentic Brands Group alongside Van Heusen, Izod, and Arrow. The sale closed on August 2, 2021, with United Legwear & Apparel Company named as its licensee. Freddy Ray Beene (born November 24, 1942) is an American former professional baseball player. Beene was a right-handed pitcher who played in the Major Leagues between to . He was listed at tall and . Beene attended Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas then played college baseball at Sam Houston State University. In performance in the small college World Series convinced Orioles scout Dee Phillips to sign him for $6,000 in 1964. Beene played with Baltimore's minor league system until 1968 and made his major league debut in September 18 of that year. He played in eight games over three seasons with the Orioles who traded him along with Enzo Hernández, Tom Phoebus and Al Severinsen to the San Diego Padres for Pat Dobson and Tom Dukes on December 1, 1970. Ramon Andrew Beene (born October 13, 1956) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers. Beene played College baseball with Baylor University. Beene was initially drafted by the New York Yankees in 1978, but they did not sign him. He was drafted and signed by the Milwaukee Brewers in round five of the 1979 draft. While in the minor leagues, he played for the Butte Copper Kings in the Pioneer League in 1979, the Stockton Ports in the California League in 1980, the El Paso Diablos in the Texas League in 1982 and 1985, and the Vancouver Canadians in the Pacific Coast League in 1983 and 1984. He was added to the Brewer's 40 man roster in 1982. His first Major League game was on September 22, 1983. In his first season playing with the Brewers he only played in one game.
