Bear In Heaven
Bear in Heaven was an American indie rock band from New York City, formed by Jon Philpot in 2003. The sound of the band incorporates influences from psychedelic music, electronic music and krautrock. History Philpot has previously released music as part of the duo Presocratics, in collaboration with guitarist and composer Need Thomas Windham. Presocratics released an album in 2000 and an EP in 2001; both were produced by Philpot and issued by the record label Table of the Elements. The first Bear in Heaven release, ''Tunes Nextdoor to Songs'', was released on July 13, 2004, by Eastern Developments. It was an EP of solo recordings by Philpot, with guest musicians performing on various instruments. Shortly after its release, Philpot assembled a band lineup including Sadek Bazarra on keyboards and guitar, David Daniell (of San Agustin) on guitar, James Elliott (also of Ateleia and School of Seven Bells) on bass, and Adam Wills on guitar. David Daniell (musician)
David Daniell is an American guitarist and composer active in experimental music, improvisation and electroacoustic composition. He has been active with the trio San Agustin since 1996. He has also collaborated with Loren Connors, Rhys Chatham, Tony Buck, Oren Ambarchi, Christian Fennesz, Tim Barnes, Ateleia, Jeph Jerman, Thurston Moore, Sean Meehan, Tomas Korber, Greg Davis and Jonathan Kane, and currently works in an ongoing duo with Douglas McCombs. He founded the record label Antiopic in New York City in 2002 with James Elliott. Daniell relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 2006, and to Western North Carolina in 2011. Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Vincent Moon (real name Mathieu Saura, born 25 August 1979) is an independent filmmaker, photographer, and sound artist from Paris. He was the main director of the Blogotheque's Take Away Shows, a web-based project recording field work music videos of indie rock related musicians as well as some notable mainstream artists like Tom Jones, R.E.M., or Arcade Fire. Vincent Moon is known for traveling around the globe with a camera in his backpack, documenting local folklores, sacred music and religious rituals, for his label Collection Petites Planètes.
