Beach Handball At The 2019 World Beach Games
Beach handball competitions at the 2019 World Beach Games in Al Rayyan, Qatar are scheduled to be held from October 9 (a day before the opening ceremony) to October 14. The venue for the competition is located at Al-Gharafa. A total of twelve men's and twelve women's teams (each consisting up to 10 athletes) competed in each tournament. This means a total of 240 athletes are scheduled to compete. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee might enter up to one men's and one women's team in the handball tournaments. The qualification processes for the men's and women's events were similar. The host country was guaranteed an entry in each event, as was the Top five Beach Handball World Championships. 6 more spots were awarded to the winners of continental qualification tournaments (for Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America). Al-Gharafa
Al-Gharafa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الغرافة الرياضي) is a Qatari multisports club based in the Al Gharrafa district of Al Rayyan. It is best known for its football team, although it also has teams for other sports. It was established on 6 June 1979 as Al-Ittihad and later officially incorporated into the Qatar Football Association on 23 September of that same year. The club was officially renamed to its current form in 2004 to better represent the district of Al-Gharafa, of which the club belongs to. The club was most notably founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani and Saad Mohammed Al-Rumaihi. Beach Handball At Multi-sport Events
A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Sediments settle in different densities and structures, depending on the local wave action and weather, creating different textures, colors and gradients or layers of material. Though some beaches form on inland freshwater locations such as lakes and rivers, most beaches are in coastal areas where wave or current action deposits and reworks sediments. Erosion and changing of beach geologies happens through natural processes, like wave action and extreme weather events. Where wind conditions are correct, beaches can be backed by coastal dunes which offer protection and regeneration for the beach. Stare Jabłonki (german: Alt Jablonken; 1938-1945: Altfinken) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ostróda, within Ostróda County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Weihai
Weihai (), formerly called Weihaiwei (), is a prefecture-level city and major seaport in easternmost Shandong province. It borders Yantai to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east, and is the closest Chinese city to South Korea. Sal (Portuguese for "salt") is an island in Cape Verde. Sal is a tourist destination with white sandy beaches and over 350 days of sunshine a year. 2019 African Beach Games
The 2019 African Beach Games were the inaugural edition of the international beach sports competition between the nations of Africa, organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA). The first Games were held on the island of Sal, Cape Verde in June 2019. In the ten-day competition, a total of 45 nations competed in 28 events across 11 sports. Teqball was also included as a demonstration sport on 18 June. The Games were awarded to the Cabo Verdean Olympic Committee (COC) at the ANOCA General Assembly in Djibouti in May 2017.
