Bačko Podunavlje
Mura-Drava-Danube ( UNESCO designation: Bačko Podunavlje, sr-Cyrl, Бачко Подунавље) is a transboundary biosphere reserve along the Drava, Mura and Danube rivers. The reserve spans , in Croatia, and in Hungary. Flood prevention dams on the rivers separate the reserve into a flooded area and a flood-controlled side. It is one of the best preserved wetlands in the Danube River Basin area. In 2009, the preliminary bilateral agreement between Croatia and Hungary was reached on creating a joint natural reserve in the Drava-Danube region. In March 2011, corresponding ecology ministries from five countries (Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia) agreed on creating a Trans-boundary Biosphere Reserve of Mura-Drava-Danube which would consist of more than of the core zone (already protected areas), of buffer zones and of transitional zones. Protected areas of Hungary includes 10 national parks, 35 landscape protection areas and 145 minor nature reserves. The national policy for governing and management of the protected areas is implemented by the Minister of Agriculture (State Secretary for the Environment). Golija-Studenica
Golija ( sr-Cyrl, Голија, ) is a mountain in southwestern Serbia, between towns of Ivanjica and Novi Pazar. It is part of the Dinaric mountain range. The mountain is heavily forested with significant biodiversity. It contains the Golija-Studenica Biosphere Reserve, the first UNESCO-MAB registered biosphere reserve in Serbia. Natura 2000 is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union. It is made up of Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas designated under the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive, respectively. The network includes both terrestrial and Marine Protected Areas. Danube-Drava National Park
Danube-Drava National Park was founded in 1996 and is located in the south west of Hungary. The current area is 490 square kilometres and the majority of the national park sites are located within the Danube and Drava floodland areas, of which 190 km2 are Ramsar Convention, Ramsar wetlands. Black stork and White-tailed eagle populations are of European significance. Seven invertebrate species are found only here in Hungary. Habitats along the Drava host more than 400 protected plants and animals. Species endemic to national park areas include the Crataegus nigra, black hawthorn and the Drava caddis fly.
