Bayini
"Bayini" is 'spiritual love song' performed in Yolngu Matha, an indigenous language of Northern Australia. It is track three on Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu's album, '' Rrakala'', which was released by Skinny Fish Music on April 15, 2011. Meaning According to the National Museum of Australia, "Bayini" are light-skinned mythological beings who were also involved in collecting and curing trepang (an edible sea cucumber). In literature, the first non-Aboriginal visitors to the Arnhem Land coast are referred to as Bayini. In songs that record and preserve their traditions, Aboriginal people of Arnhem land tell of the Bayini gypsies with copper coloured skin who visited their shores. Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (22 January 1971 – 25 July 2017), commonly known as Gurrumul and also referred to since his death as Dr G. Yunupingu, was an Aboriginal Australian musician of the Yolŋu peoples. A multi-instrumentalist, he played drums, keyboards, guitar (a right-hand-strung guitar played left-handed) and didgeridoo, but it was the clarity of his singing voice that attracted rave reviews. He sang stories of his land both in Yolŋu languages such as Dhangu-Djangu language, Gaalpu, Dhuwal language, Gumatj or Dhuwal language, Djambarrpuynu, a dialect related to Gumatj, and in English. Although his solo career brought him wider acclaim, he was also formerly a member of Yothu Yindi and later of Saltwater Band. Delta Lea Goodrem AM (born November 9, 1984) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actress. Goodrem signed to Sony Music at the age of 15. Her debut album, '' Innocent Eyes'' (2003), topped the ARIA Albums Chart for 29 non-consecutive weeks. It is one of the highest-selling Australian albums and is the second-best-selling Australian album of all time with over four million copies sold. The Voice (Australia Series 2)
The second season of ''The Voice'', the Australian reality talent show, premiered on 7 April 2013. Season 1 coach, Keith Urban left the show and was therefore replaced by Ricky Martin. This is the last season to feature Delta Goodrem and Seal until they both return in Seasons 4 and 6, respectively. Format The season is part of the television franchise, ''The Voice'' and is based on a similar competition format in The Netherlands entitled ''The Voice of Holland''. "Heart Hypnotic" is a song by the Australian singer Delta Goodrem. It peaked at number seven on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for selling 35,000 copies. "Wish You Were Here" is a song by Australian singer–songwriter Delta Goodrem. It was sent to Australian radio on 4 October 2012, and was released digitally on 12 October 2012 and as a CD single on 19 October 2012. The song is the third single released from Goodrem's fourth studio album '' Child of the Universe''. Background and composition In July 2009, one of Goodrem's lifelong friends, Liam O'Flaherty, was involved in a motorbike accident which took his life. Goodrem was very devastated upon learning the death of O'Flaherty, who was only 24 when he died. While writing materials for her upcoming album, Goodrem worked with Gary Clark and wrote "Wish You Were Here" as a tribute to remember O'Flaherty. ''Rrakala'' is the second album from Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. It is performed in Yolngu. Gurrumul plays piano, drums, nylon-string acoustic guitar, electric and acoustic guitars. It reached number three on the ARIA charts. At the 2011 ARIA awards, ''Rrakala'' won the award for Best World Music Album. It was also nominated for album of the year, Best Male Artist, Best Independent Release and Best Cover Artist. Gurrumul performed a version of "Warwu" with Missy Higgins at the award ceremony. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975.
