CKVB-FM (''Bay of Islands Radio'') is a Canadian radio station. The station broadcasts a country/community radio format at 100.1 FM in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 2011, Bay of Islands Radio has maintained a full-time internet stream, broadcasting programs from a wide variety of topics and music genres produced by its volunteers. The station also broadcasts many local events that are of interest to the public, such as the bi-weekly live broadcast of Corner Brook City Council. The station is registered as a non-profit organization, and is operated entirely by volunteers from the surrounding communities of the Bay of Islands. The station was founded in partnership with the Grenfell Campus Student Union (GCSU) and College of the North Atlantic, and was operated on the premises of Memorial University's Grenfell Campus until January 2015; it moved to a new facility on Brook Street at this time, which was donated by the City of Corner Brook. Corner Brook ( 2021 population: 19,333 CA 29,762) is a city located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Corner Brook is the fifth largest settlement in Newfoundland and Labrador. Located on the Bay of Islands at the mouth of the Humber River, the city is the second-largest population centre in the province behind St. John's, and smallest of three cities behind St. John's and Mount Pearl. As such, Corner Brook functions as a service centre for western and northern Newfoundland. CJON-DT (channel 21), branded on-air as NTV (short for Newfoundland Television), is an English-language independent television station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, owned by Newfoundland Broadcasting Company Ltd. The station's studios are located on Logy Bay Road in St. John's, and its transmitter is located in the city's Shea Heights section. CHOZ-FM is a Canadian radio station based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Its main St. John's transmitter broadcasts at 94.7 MHz, with additional transmitters located throughout the island. Gander is a town located in the northeastern part of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, approximately south of Gander Bay, south of Twillingate and east of Grand Falls-Windsor. CFCB
CFCB (570 kHz) is an AM radio station in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It broadcasts at a power of 10,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night. Owned by Stingray Group, CFCB first went on the air on October 3, 1960. The station was founded by Dr. Noel Murphy. On March 26, 2012, CFCB rebranded, which included a new slogan, logo and programming. The "Local News Now" slogan was adopted from VOCM in St. John's, which had rebranded just weeks before. The new CFCB logo also features the VOCM color scheme, which includes yellow and red. As of March 9, 2022, CFCB no longer originates any local programming from Corner Brook following the closure of its studios and termination of on-air personnel by Stingray. CKXX-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting from Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador on 103.9 MHz with a classic rock format branded on-air as ''97.5 K-Rock''. It is currently owned by Stingray Group. History CKXX-FM launched by the noted broadcaster Alex J. Walling on August 6, 1984 as CKWK at 1340 kHz. For the first year and a half of CKWK's existence, they tried many things to bring up listenership and broaden the appeal of its fledgling station. Many of these programs were quite successful. Grenfell Campus
Grenfell Campus, formerly Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, is a campus of the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). It is located in the city of Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
