Bastion Bunglow is a famous tourist site in the city of Kochi, located near Vasco da Gama square in Fort Kochi, India India, officially the Republic of India (Hindi: ), is a country in South Asia. Colonel Macaulay, the resident of Cochin during the early decade of the 19th century stayed in this building. Vasco House, Kochi
Vasco House is a notable tourist site located in Fort Kochi, in the South India state of Kerala. It is one of the oldest Portuguese residences in Fort Kochi. The house is believed to have been the residence of Vasco da Gama, which was constructed in the first half of the sixteenth century. Vasco House has stark white walls, a Prussian blue glass pane windows and a balcony cum verandahs of the traditional European style of that era. There is no documentary or other proof that the renowned explorer Vasco da Gama resided there, except from a picture of him that stands out among other wall hangings and photos in the house. It is located behind St. Francis Church at the intersection of Rose and Ridsdale Street, and is one of the most photographed buildings in Fort Kochi. Thakur House, Kochi
The Thakur House is an historical building located in Fort Kochi in the South Indian state of Kerala. It was constructed on the site of the Gelderland Bastion, one of the seven bastions of the old Dutch fort. Previously known as Kunal or Hill Bungalow, it was the residence of the National Bank of India's managers during the British rule in India. For decades, the house on a cliff overlooking the sea has been a prominent landmark in Fort Kochi. The house was occupied by a prominent spice trade family of Mattancherry in the late nineteenth century when the Dutch left India in the 19th century. In 1977, Ram Bahadur Thakur and Company, a major tea trading company, purchased the property and utilised it as their residence, giving rise to the name Thakur House. It is believed that the house includes a network of tunnels that connect various Fort Kochi locations, including the Bishop's home and St Francis Church.
