Danni Bassan
Antonio Danny Bassan ( he, דני בסן; born December 5, 1955) is an Israeli musician. Biography When aged 18, he was recruited to the Israeli Air Force Band. Bassan was known as a member of the band T-Slam, and was main vocalist in it until its disbandment in 1983. In 1985 Bassan released a self-titled album. His second album, ''HaYeled Shebi'' (The Kid Inside Me), was released in 1989. This album included the song ''Darkenu'' (Our Way, דרכינו) which later became a hit, as a theme for the Israeli TV-show ''HaBurganim''. In 1992, his last album was released, ''Chalom Shiheha''. Since T-Slam dissolved, Bassan worked at recording jingles, commercials and dubbing voices. Raphaël Bassan
Raphaël Bassan (born 1948) is a French film critic and journalist, who has specialized in experimental film and the history of cinema. He has also made three short movies. Biography Bassan was born in Burgas, Bulgaria, of French nationality, in 1948. His family moved to Paris in 1949. He has been interested in all forms of cinema from childhood. He has been a poet since 1964. He was one of the founders with Hubert Haddad of the magazine, ''Le Point d'Être'' (which only published three issues). Feeling that he was locked into a post-surrealist form, he chose to write in a "more modern" style as a critic. After writing reviews in specialized magazines, his first "professional" job was for the magazine ''Politique Hebdo'' when it was founded in 1970. Bassan Tribe
The Bassan tribe (Basan) of the Ijaw people lives in western Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Bassan settlements include: Ezetu (I and II), Koloama (I and II), Sangana, Foropah, Ukubie, Lubia, Azuzuama, Akparatubo, and Ekeni. Unlike other Ijaw tribes, the Bassan do not have a cultural tradition of common origin. It is believed that each of the villages that make up the clan were settled by separate migrations. As a result, no form of central authority developed among the Bassan. Some of the villages forged temporary alliances; others quarreled with each other over land and fishing rights. Significant events *2 November 2006: Gunmen kidnap two expatriates (British and American) working for Petroleum Geo-Services (working on contract for Chevron Nigeria Limited).
