The women's qualification for the Olympic basketball tournament occurred between 2022 and 2024; all five FIBA (International Basketball Federation) zones were expected to have a representation in the Olympic basketball event. As the host nation, France reserved a quota place in the women's 5×5 basketball; this was confirmed by a FIBA Central Board decision on 30 April 2023. The 2024 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments were the four women's basketball tournaments that were contested by 16 national teams, where the top teams earned a place in the 2024 Summer Olympics basketball tournament. The 2023 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2023, was the 39th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Slovenia and Israel between 15 and 25 June 2023. The games were played in Tel Aviv and Ljubljana. Serbia was the defending champions. EuroBasket Women is a biennial international women's basketball competition held between the nations of FIBA Europe for women's national teams. EuroBasket Women is also used as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Women's World Cup and also the Olympic Games. 2023 FIBA Women's Asia Cup
The 2023 FIBA Women's Asia Cup was the 30th edition of the tournament, held from 26 June to 2 July 2023 in Sydney, Australia. This was the first time Australia hosted this tournament. The top four teams qualified for the 2024 Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. China won their 12th title after a win in the final over Japan. The FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2023 Division B was held later from 13 to 19 August 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand. Venue Format The eight teams were split into two groups of four teams.
