Baseball Heaven
Baseball Heaven (BBH) is a 27-acre baseball complex in Yaphank, New York on Long Island,. The complex is located close to Long Island MacArthur Airport. Baseball Heaven has been around since August 6, 2002. Baseball Heaven attracts talent from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states. The complex features four ninety foot base path artificial turf fields and three are seventy foot artificial turf fields. Approximately 750,000 people visit Baseball Heaven on an annual basis. Ownership Baseball Heaven was acquired by Steel Sports on June 27, 2011. BBH completed the build of a 12,000-square-foot facility, $1.9 million indoor training facility on its site called Steel Sports Academy. Features BBH's amenities include below grade dugouts, connecting bullpens, warning tracks, P.A. systems, electronic scoreboards, and an artificial turf. Yaphank, New York
Yaphank () is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 5,945 at the time of the 2010 census. Yaphank is located in the south part of the Town of Brookhaven. It is served by the Longwood Central School District, except for extreme southwestern Yaphank, which is served by the South Country Central School District. In the 1930s, Yaphank was a center of American Nazism where Camp Siegfried drew up to a thousand weekly visitors from New York City for pro-Nazi rallies and vacationing. Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well. The main reason is maintenanceartificial turf stands up to heavy use, such as in sports, and requires no irrigation or trimming. Domed, covered, and partially covered stadiums may require artificial turf because of the difficulty of getting grass enough sunlight to stay healthy. Long Island MacArthur Airport (formerly known as Islip Airport) is a public airport in Ronkonkoma, New York, on Long Island. The Town of Islip owns and operates the airport, which serves about two million airline passengers a year, as well as general aviation. Long Island MacArthur Airport (LIMA) covers 1,311 acres (531 ha) and has three runways and two helipads. East Patchogue (, ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding.
