Barwa Al Baraha ( ar, بروة البراحة; popularly known as Barwa Village) is a residential and commercial area mostly for expatriates in the Doha Industrial Area located south of the Industrial Area in Al Wakrah Municipality in Qatar. The project aims to provide a reasonable standard of living as defined by the new Human Rights Legislation. Project The Barwa Al Baraha is built by Qatari contracting agency Barwa Group. Its budget was around $1.1 billion and the construction took place in Al Wakrah Al Wakrah ( ar, الوكرة, al-Wakra) is the capital city of the Al Wakrah Municipality in Qatar. Al Wakrah Municipality (also spelled Al Wakra Municipality; ar, بلدية الوكرة Baladīyat al-Wakrah) is a municipality of Qatar located bordered by the municipalities of Doha and Al Rayyan. The municipal seat is Al Wakrah city. Etymology The municipality was named after the city of Al Wakrah, which derives its name from the Arabic word "wakar", which roughly translates to "bird's nest". According to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, this name was given in reference to a nearby hill which accommodated the nests of several birds.
