Bart Bryant
Barton Holan Bryant (November 18, 1962 – May 31, 2022) was an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Early life Bryant was born in Gatesville, Texas, the son of a Baptist pastor. He attended New Mexico State University, where he was a two-time All-American as a member of the golf team. Professional career Bryant turned professional in 1986. Bryant did not win on the PGA Tour until his 187th start, the 2004 Valero Texas Open. His entire career was plagued by injuries and he graduated from PGA Tour Q School six times before his win. At 41 he was the oldest first time winner on the tour in nine years. In 2005 he won the Memorial Tournament and the season ending Tour Championship to finish ninth on the money list with earnings of $3,249,136, which was more than he had earned in total in his first eighteen seasons on the PGA and Nationwide tours from 1986 to 2003, during which his best money list finish on the main tour was 80th. Gatesville, Texas
Gatesville is a city in and the county seat of Coryell County, Texas, United States. Its population was 16,135 at the 2020 census. The city has five of the nine prisons and state jails for women operated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. One of the facilities, the Mountain View Unit, has the state's death row for women. Gatesville is part of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood metropolitan statistical area. PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50. The idea for a senior tour grew out of a highly successful event in 1978, the Legends of Golf at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas, which featured competition between two-member teams of some of the greatest older golfers of that day. The tour was formally established in 1980 and was originally known as the Senior PGA Tour until October 2002. Michael Bradley (golfer)
Michael John Bradley (born July 17, 1966) is an American professional golfer. Bradley was born in Largo, Florida. He attended Oklahoma State University and turned professional in 1988. After turning professional, Bradley joined the Canadian Tour. He won the 1989 Ontario Open and the 1990 Quebec Open. He also shot a 59 in an event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Bradley earned his PGA Tour card through qualifying school in 1992 and played full-time from 1993 to 2000. He won the 1996 Buick Challenge and the 1998 Doral-Ryder Open. 1996 was his best year on the PGA Tour, where he finished in 20th on the money list while recording a win and a runner-up finish. Corey Pavin
Corey Allen Pavin (born November 16, 1959) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and currently on the PGA Tour Champions. He spent over 150 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking between 1986 and 1997 and achieved his highest world ranking of No. 2 in June 1996. Pavin won 15 events on the PGA Tour, was 1991 Player of the Year (topping that season's money list) and achieved one major championship victory, the 1995 U.S. Open. He finished in the top-5 on the money list in 1991, 1992, and 1995. Russ Cochran
Russell Earl Cochran (born October 31, 1958) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour Champions, having previously been a member on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He is one of the few natural left-handed players to win a PGA Tour event. For much of the 1980s through 1992, he was the only left-hander on the PGA Tour. Cochran was born, raised and has lived most of his life in Paducah, Kentucky. He grew up playing on Paxton Park Public Golf Course in Paducah, as did fellow PGA Tour player Kenny Perry, who came along a couple years later. The 2013 Champions Tour was the 34th season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 26 official money events with purses totaling $50,750,000, including five majors. Bernhard Langer topped the end-of-season money list, winning $2,448,428. This was his second straight money title and fifth overall. Kenny Perry won the most tournaments, three. North Dakota Open
The North Dakota Open is the North Dakota state open golf tournament, open to both amateur and professional golfers. History The inaugural event was in 1964. The event was one-round long and had a purse of $2,000. Eddie Langert of St. Paul, Minnesota shot a par-72 to win the tournament by three strokes over Corky Dahl, Herb Marcussen, and Paul O'Leary. The following year the tournament increased to two rounds long. In addition, prize money increased to $3,500 and the winner's cheque was now $600. George Shortridge shot an opening round 73 (+1) to take a one-stroke lead. He led by one over Langert and Byron Comstock. A further shot behind were a number of players including Corky Dahl and Fargo's "host pro" Jack Webb. Langert and Webb outplayed all competitors during the final round and were "deadlocked" down the stretch. The Tour Championship
The Tour Championship (stylized as the TOUR Championship) is a golf tournament that is part of the PGA Tour. It has historically been one of the final events of the PGA Tour season; prior to 2007, its field consisted exclusively of the top 30 money leaders of the past PGA Tour season. Starting in 2007, it was the final event of the four-tournament FedEx Cup Playoffs, with eligibility determined by FedEx Cup points accumulated throughout the season. From 2019 onward, the FedEx Cup was reduced to three events, and the Tour Championship is now held in late August rather than mid-September.
