Barry Monaghan
Barry Monaghan is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Four Masters and also, formerly, the Donegal county team. Club Monaghan won the Donegal Senior Football Championship with his club in 2003. He scored two points in the final against Termon. Inter-county Monaghan won the All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship in 1995. Monaghan made his Donegal debut in October 2000 in what was Mickey Moran's first game in charge, a league victory at home to Offaly, in which he scored a point. He made his championship debut in 2001. He played in the 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final against Armagh. He played in the 2006 Ulster Senior Football Championship Final at Croke Park. Four Masters GAA
Four Masters is a GAA club located in the town of Donegal in County Donegal, Ireland. They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal. History Based in the parishes of Townawilly and Killymard, Donegal Town, Four Masters is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Donegal having won 3 Donegal Senior Football Championships. The GAA club under Warwickshire County Board in Coventry, England, is named after the Four Masters club in Donegal. That club was unable to register as a Donegal Club but reserved the Four Masters name. Austin O'Kennedy, a top GAA doctor who oversaw all Donegal county teams for 22 years, has also been involved with Four Masters for even longer. Tom Conaghan who managed the Four Masters to two county championships in 1982 and 1984 went on to manage the county team during the late 80s. The Armagh county football team ( ) represents Armagh GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of football. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Ulster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League. 2007 National Football League (Ireland)
The 2007 National Football League was the Gaelic football league, contested by 32 GAA counties football teams, 31 from Ireland (as Kilkenny don't compete) and London from England. Due to the extended reshuffling of the structure for the 2008 campaign, survival in Divisions 1A and 1B, was much more precarious—with four relegation places in these divisions, the bottom two teams were relegated to Division 3, and the teams finishing in 5th place and 6th places were relegated to Division 2. Donegal won the 2007 National Football League by securing the Division One title, a historic achievement and their first National Football League title. They were unbeaten throughout the competition. Donal Monaghan
Donal Monaghan (1950 – 3 January 2016) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a right corner-back for the Donegal county team. Born in County Donegal, Monaghan first played competitive Gaelic football at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Donegal minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1968-69 National Football League. Monaghan went on to play a key part for Donegal in a team that made a provincial breakthrough, and won two Ulster medals and one All Stars Award. His uncle, Johnny Monaghan, played Gaelic football with Fermanagh in the 1930s. Monaghan represented the Ulster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions and was a Railway Cup runner-up in 1975. Donegal Democrat
The ''Donegal Democrat'' is a twice-weekly local newspaper, covering County Donegal, Ireland. The paper was traditionally based in the town of Ballyshannon in the south of the county, but now has offices in Donegal Town (southern edition) and Letterkenny (northern edition). The ''Donegal Democrat'' is the largest paper focused solely on County Donegal, and its current managing editor is Chris Ashmore. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Since 1891 the site has been used by the GAA to host Gaelic sports, including the annual All-Ireland in Gaelic football and hurling. The 2003 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 117th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter county, inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 4 May 2003 and ended on 28 September 2003. Armagh GAA, Armagh entered the championship as the 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, defending champions.
