Barrie Bates
Barrie Bates (born 17 October 1969) is a former Welsh darts player who played on the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) circuit. His original nickname was Batesy, but since 2007, he was known as Champagne. Career Bates made his PDC televised debut at the 2003 UK Open reaching the third round. In 2005 he narrowly lost a last-32 match to Lionel Sams at the UK Open and made a superb run to the final in 2006 before losing to Raymond van Barneveld. He made a great impression on the circuit in 2006, winning the John Smiths Singles in February and May's Le Skratch Sarantos Retsinas Memorial event in Montreal. He also reached two Regional Finals of the UK Open in March (losing to Chris Mason and to van Barneveld in November. Merthyr Tydfil
Merthyr Tydfil (; cy, Merthyr Tudful ) is the main town in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, Wales, administered by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. It is about north of Cardiff. Brian Cyr
Brian Cyr (born June 30, 1956) is a Canadian-American former professional darts player who competed in events of the British Darts Organisation (BDO). Career Cyr is a two-time winner of the Canadian National Championship in 1999 and 2006. The latter title earned him a spot in the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship where he beat Barrie Bates to reach the second round in which he lost to Rico Vonck. 2010 PDC Pro Tour
The 2010 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They were Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and UK Open Qualifiers. This year there were 45 PDC Pro Tour events – 37 Players Championships and 8 UK Open Qualifiers. Prize money Prize money for each Players Championship (excluding Australia and Canada) and UK Open Qualifier increased from £29,600 in 2009 to £31,200 in 2010. Prize money for Australian and Canadian Players Championships remained unchanged at £21,600 per event. In addition, £400 per Pro Tour event was reserved for a nine-dart finish. Kevin McDine
Kevin McDine (born 23 May 1985 in Wallsend) is an English professional darts player currently residing in Wallsend. Career In November 2004 he reached the last 16 of the JR & Vauxhall Holiday Park 128 Plus Classic. He improved on that performance by reaching the semi-final of the Norfolk Open in November 2006. He won the Northants open in 2005 and 2006 and then joined the PDC in April 2007. During 2007 he has made quick progress up the world rankings. He qualified for the group stages of the International Darts League and also made his first PDC Pro Tour final – the Irish Regional final of the UK Open, where he lost to Raymond van Barneveld. Co Stompé
Jacobus Wilhelmus "Co" Stompé (born 10 September 1962) is a Dutch former professional darts player. He was nicknamed The Matchstick because of his almost bald head and very thin appearance, making him look like a matchstick. He was also one of very few professionals who played in longsleeved shirts. Darts career BDO For years, Stompé was considered the third best Dutch darts player behind Raymond van Barneveld and Roland Scholten. After reaching the semi-finals of the 2000 World Championship, he dropped back behind a younger emerging Dutch group of players. Stompé came back to fame with the defeat of reigning BDO champion Jelle Klaasen in the first round of the 2007 World Championship. Mark Webster (darts Player)
Mark Webster (born 12 August 1983) is a Welsh former professional darts player. Nicknamed Webby and The Spider, he played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Webster began his career on the British Darts Organisation (BDO) circuit, winning the BDO World Championship in 2008. He became a full-time professional in 2009, having previously been a fully qualified registered plumber. He now works as an analyst and commentator on Sky Sports and ITV. 2010 PDC World Cup Of Darts
The 2010 Cash Converters World Cup of Darts was the first edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts which took place between 3–5 December 2010 at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-le-Spring, England. The tournament was won by Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé for the Netherlands, who defeated Mark Webster (darts player), Mark Webster and Barrie Bates of Wales in the final. Format The participating teams were the top 24 countries in the PDC Order of Merit at the end of October after the 2010 World Grand Prix Darts, 2010 World Grand Prix. Mervyn King (darts Player)
Mervyn King (born 15 March 1966) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Nicknamed The King, he has reached seven PDC major TV finals and reached a peak of No. 4 in the PDC Order of Merit. Early life King first took up the game at the age of 12, playing with an old rolled-cardboard dartboard given to him by his father. His father insisted that he played darts using competition distance and height. By the age of 13, he had ambitions to become a professional player as he was playing county darts at Superleague level. His first county A game was at the age of 14 and he won his local men's singles league at that age. Mark Dudbridge
Mark "Flash" Dudbridge (born 11 January 1973) is an English professional darts player. He appeared in the 2005 Premier League Darts after reaching the final of the 2005 PDC World Darts Championship. He also is a former World Master and has reached the final of the World Matchplay. Career Dudbridge started playing in his very early teens, citing Dennis Priestley as one of his heroes. Dudbridge made a name for himself in the British Darts Organisation by winning the Winmau World Masters in 2002, defeating Tony West in the final – in his first televised tournament. He never competed in the BDO version of the World Championship and switched instead to compete in the Professional Darts Corporation.
