Barisal Cadet College
Barishal Cadet College ( bn, বরিশাল ক্যাডেট কলেজ), is a Military school in Rahmatpur, Babuganj, Barisal, Bangladesh. It is located from Barisal, beside the Dhaka Barisal highway(location on map) History Before the independence of Bangladesh, the then Pakistan government established four cadet colleges by following the British public schools' model. After independence, due to the success of those schools, the Bangladesh Defense Force kept those colleges (which are high schools by American definition) and established eight more cadet colleges (three girls and five boys). Previously, it was Barisal Residential Model College. In 1981 the Bangladesh government converted it into a cadet college. Its first principal was Mr Md. Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy ( bn, হোসেন শহীদ সোহ্রাওয়ার্দী; ur, ; 8 September 18925 December 1963) was a Bengali barrister and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1956 to 1957 and before that as the Prime Minister of Bengal from 1946 to 1947 in British India. Haji Shariatullah
Haji Shariatullah ( bn, হাজী শরীয়তুল্লাহ; 17811840) was a prominent religious leader and Islamic scholar from Bengal in the eastern subcontinent, who is best known as the founder of the Faraizi movement. In 1884, the Shariatpur District was formed and named after him. Military High School
Military high schools are a type of high school that include military cadet education and so are a form of military academy. They are found in several countries and offer a regular high school education but with an extra military training curriculum.
