Bardidi
''Bardidi'' is a Bengali drama film directed by Ajoy Kar, based on the novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. This film was released in 1957 under the banner of Sarat Banichitra. In 1939 another film was released in the same name based on the same plot by Amar Mullick. Plot Suren is the son of a zamindar of Bangladesh lives his life in his own way. He takes up the job of private tutor for a girl whose elder sister is Madhabi, an ill-fated widow. But after a few days, he returns to his rich family and marries. But he can not forget Madhabi who loves him like an elder and caring sister. In the meantime, when Madhabi's sister-in-law drives her out of the house, Suren hears that and arranges to return the property to her. Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay
Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, alternatively spelt as Sarat Chandra Chatterjee ( bn, শরৎচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়; 15 September 1876 or ৩১ শে ভাদ্র ১২৮৩ বঙ্গাব্দ – 16 January 1938), was a Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century. Tulsi Chakraborty (also Tulsi Chakrabarti, bn, তুলসী চক্রবর্তী; 3 March 1899 – 11 December 1961) was an Indian actor and comedian who worked in Bengali cinema in the 1940s and 50s. Ajoy Kar (Bengali:অজয় কর; 27 March 1914 – 25 January 1985) was an Indian film director and cinematographer . He directed 26 films between 1949 and 1983. His 1961 film ''Saptapadi'' was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival. Ajoy Kar provided a whole new expression to Bengali cinema. His 1971 film ''Malyadan'' won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Early life Ajoy Kar was born on 27 March 1914, in Calcutta, British India. Chhabi Biswas (''Chabi Biśbās'') (13 July 1900 – 11 June 1962) was an Indian actor, primarily known for his performances in Tapan Sinha's '' Kabuliwala'' and Satyajit Ray's films '' Jalshaghar'' (''The Music Room'', 1958), '' Devi'' (''The Goddess'', 1960) and ''Kanchenjungha'' (1962). Molina Devi (1917 — 13 August 1977), also known as Molina Debi and Malina Debi, was a Bengali Indian actress of Bengali and Hindi film and theatre. As an actress, she played a wide variety of parts, later frequently playing matronly parts, especially Rani Rashmoni, patroness of the 19th century Bengali mystic Sri Ramakrishna. Pahari Sanyal (22 February 1906 – 10 February 1974) was an Indian actor and singer who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Sanyal acted in many Bengali films, such as ''Harano Sur'', ''Bhanu Goenda Jahar Assistant'', and ''Shilpi''.
