Faith J Eselebor, known professionally as Barbee is a singer of Jamaica and African descent. Faith J Eselebor, the singer adopted the moniker Barbee from an early age, coined from her mother's admiration for the Mattel signature doll brand. Early life Barbee born Faith J Eselebor was born in New York City, and by age 11 she became the lead singer of a traveling gospel choir, Perfect Praise. In her teenage years, Barbee became a member of a girl group called Best Kept Secret. Career Barbee is known for her collaboration with reggae artist Junior Kelly, "Missing You" was released in 2007 and received airplay throughout the Caribbean, United States, Canada and West Africa. David Rankin Barbee (October 15, 1874, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Murfreesboro, Tennessee—March 7, 1958, Orange, Texas, Orange, Texas) was an American journalist, a public relations writer for the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration, and a researcher in History of the United States, American history, best known for writing on Southern history. Barbee, known by his middle name Rankin, was descended from a powerful Tennessee political family. Biography From 1928 to 1933 Rankin Barbee wrote the column "Profiles" in the ''Washington Post,'' earning him "a large and loyal audience." He joined the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a public relations writer for the Federal Alcohol Administration. Barbee Lake is a fresh water lake located in Warsaw, Indiana, United States. The Barbee chain of lakes was formed by retreating glaciers during the Pleistocene era as were most of northeast Indiana's lakes. Location The greater Barbee lakes are located just west of Indiana State Road 13, approximately south-southeast of Tippecanoe Lake and southwest of Webster Lake. William Randolph Barbee (January 17, 1818 – June 16, 1868) was an American sculptor recognized for creating idealized, sentimental classical figures. Barbee's most notable works were the marble sculptures entitled ''Coquette'' and ''Fisher Girl.'' Biography The family descends from John Barbee, of French-Huguenot ancestry, who settled in Virginia. Barbee was born in "Hawburg", in a part of Culpeper County, Virginia, that later became Rappahannock County. (Alternatively, he was born near Luray in Page County). Anthony Michael Barbee (born August 10, 1971) is an American college basketball coach, and a head coach for the Central Michigan Chippewas men's basketball, Central Michigan Chippewas. Lloyd Augustus Barbee (August 17, 1925 – December 29, 2002) was an American lawyer and politician who worked for civil rights. He led the effort to integrate the Milwaukee Public School system. He was a Democrat. Early life and education Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Barbee joined the NAACP at age twelve. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. In 1949, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics all-black LeMoyne–Owen College and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Law School, but he soon dropped out due to the racial prejudice of some faculty and students. Later he returned to the University of Wisconsin. In 1955, he was elected president of the Madison chapter of the NAACP, and he completed law school in 1956.
