Barat Academy
Barat Academy is an independent college preparatory school, in Chesterfield, Missouri for grades 6–12. It was founded in 2007 in the traditions of the Sacred Heart. It is the first co-educational completely independent Catholic high school in the state of Missouri. Barat Academy is the only private, independent, Catholic high school in St. Louis that offers single gender classes on a co-ed campus. The Barat Academy experience includes a strong faith-based environment, a college preparatory curriculum, and a firm commitment to service. Madeleine Sophie Barat, RSCJ, (12 December 1779 – 25 May 1865), was a French saint of the Catholic Church who founded the Society of the Sacred Heart, a worldwide religious institute of educators. Early life and family Barat was born on the night of 12 December 1779, in Joigny, France, next door to a house fire at a neighbor's home. The stress and the terror of the fire caused Sophie's mother, Madeleine Fouffé Barat (1740–1822), then pregnant with her third child, to go into labour. Born two months premature, Madeleine Sophie was considered so fragile that she was baptised early the next morning in Sainy Thibault Church, just a few yards from the Barat family home. Dardenne Prairie is a city in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. The population was 11,494 at the 2010 census. Geography Dardenne Prairie is located southwest of O'Fallon on Missouri Route N, just east of I-64. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land.
