The Bangladesh Karate Federation is the national federation for karate and is responsible for governing the sport in Bangladesh. Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan, a commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission, is the President of Bangladesh Karate Federation. Kaw Shaw Hla is the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Karate Federation. History The Bangladesh Karate Federation was established in 1972 as the Bangladesh Judo and Karate Federation. Bangladesh Judo and Karate Federation divided into two, Bangladesh Karate Federation and Bangladesh Judo Federation, in 2001 by Lieutenant General M Harun-Ar-Rashid. Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers sent Nonka, a karate player, to work with Bangladesh Karate Federation to develop karate in Bangladesh. Mitsuito Yoshido served as the coach of Bangladesh Karate Federation. In 1982, the federation held the first National Karate Championships in Bangladesh. Md Mozammel Haque Khan
Md Mozammel Haque Khan is the former Senior Secretary and currently the Commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission with the rank of a judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. He is the Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts and President of Bangladesh Karate Federation. Early life Khan was born on 3 November 1959 in Panchkhola Union, Madaripur District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. In 1974 and 1976, Khan graduated from United Islamia Government High School and Dhaka College. He completed his bachelor's degree and masters from University of Dhaka in social sciences. Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers
is a government system for dispatching young Japanese volunteers overseas operated by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The program is similar to the U.S. Peace Corps, and includes volunteers in wide range of fields such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries, education, health, and more than 120 technical fields.
