Bangladesh International Arbitration Center
The Bangladesh International Arbitration Center (BIAC) is an alternative dispute resolution court in Dhaka, Bangladesh. History BIAC was founded in 2011 by a consortium of commercial chambers, including the International Chamber of Commerce, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group. It is the first arbitration court in Bangladesh. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative dispute resolution (ADR), or external dispute resolution (EDR), typically denotes a wide range of dispute resolution processes and techniques that parties can use to settle disputes with the help of a third party. They are used for disagreeing parties who cannot come to an agreement short of litigation. However, ADR is also increasingly being adopted as a tool to help settle disputes within the court system. Despite historic resistance to ADR by many popular parties and their advocates, ADR has gained widespread acceptance among both the general public and the legal profession in recent years. ICC International Court of Arbitration is an institution for the resolution of international commercial disputes. It operates under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce and consists of more than 100 arbitrators from roughly 90 countries.
