Bandar-e Mahshahr ( fa, بندرماهشهر) is a city and capital of Mahshahr County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. Mahshahr has two universities. Islamic Azad University of Mahshahr and Amirkabir University of Technology, Mahshahr campus. Both universities concentrate on engineering programs, especially petroleum and petrochemical engineering. Demographics Most of its people spoke a dialect that was a mixture of Southern Luri and Bushehri, that is still spoken by some elderly people and by younger generations mostly in rural area (the dialect though still thrives in Hendijan and especially Genaaveh). Bandar-log ( hi, बन्दर-लोग) is a term used in Rudyard Kipling's ''The Jungle Book'' (1894) to describe the monkeys of the Seeonee jungle. Description In Hindi, ''Bandar'' means "monkey" and ''log'' means "people" – hence the term simply refers to "monkey people". The term has also since come to refer to "any body of irresponsible chatterers." History The Bandar-log feature most prominently in the story "Kaa's Hunting", where their scatterbrained anarchy causes them to be treated as pariahs by the rest of the jungle. Their foolish and chattering ways are illustrated by their slogan: ''We are great. We are free. We are wonderful. We are the most wonderful people in all the jungle! Prioninae
The Prioninae are a subfamily of Cerambycidae (long-horned beetles). They are typically large (25–70 mm) and usually brown or black. Bandar or Bunder (in Persian بندر) is a Persian word meaning "port" and "haven". Etymologically it combines Persian بند ''Band'' (enclosed) and در ''dar'' (gate, door) meaning "an enclosed area" (i.e. protected from the sea) derived from Sanskrit/Avestan Bandha (to tieup) and Dwara (entrance).
