Baltimore Bike Share
Baltimore Bike Share (also referred to as Bmore Bikeshare) was a bicycle sharing system that served the city of Baltimore, Maryland. The system had more than 50 stations, all owned by the Baltimore City government, and operated in a public–private partnership with Bewegen Technologies and Corps Logistics. Launched in 2016, Baltimore Bike Share had the largest electrical-assisted cycling (Pedelec) fleet in North America. On August 15, 2018, the Baltimore Bike Share system was cancelled at a cost of $3.2 million and shut down immediately due to on-going problems with the system. Replacing the Baltimore Bike Share are dockless scooters and bicycles from startup companies Bird and LimeBike. Charles Center Station
Charles Center station is an underground 2 floor Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland making it the largest station on the line. Located at the Charles Center in Downtown Baltimore, it is a downtown transportation hub serving many bus lines, nearby various landmarks, and bus transfers. It was the final stop of the line until 1995, when the extension to Johns Hopkins Hospital opened. Port Discovery (museum)
Port Discovery Children's Museum is a non-profit institution located in the historic Fish Market building in Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor. It is 80,000 square feet and has three floors of exhibits and programs designed to be interactive and educational. It receives more than 265,000 visitors annually. Phoenix Shot Tower
The Phoenix Shot Tower, also known as the Old Baltimore Shot Tower, is a red brick shot tower, tall, located near the downtown, Jonestown (also known later as Old Town), and Little Italy communities of East Baltimore, in Maryland. When it was completed in 1828 it was the tallest structure in the United States. The tower was originally known as the "Phoenix Shot Tower", then the "Merchants' Shot Tower", and now is also sometimes called the "Old Baltimore Shot Tower". It is the only surviving shot tower among four that existed in Baltimore, and was designated a National Historic Landmark on November 11, 1971. It was designated as a local Baltimore City Landmark on October 14, 1975. Shot Tower–Market Place Station
Shot Tower station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is in the central part of the city, in close proximity to many well-known landmarks, including the Shot Tower for which it is named, Port Discovery, Power Plant Live!, the Harbor campus of Baltimore City Community College, the National Aquarium, the Flag House, and Little Italy. The station has two street-level entrances, but unlike other Baltimore Metro stations that do, both these entrances share a common gate inside the station. Inner Harbor East, now more recently referred to more commonly as simply as Harbor East, is a relatively new mixed-use development project in Baltimore, Maryland, United States along the northern shoreline of the Northwest Branch of the Patapsco River, which is the Baltimore Harbor, and its Inner Harbor (formerly known as "The Basin"). Maryland Science Center
The Maryland Science Center, located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, opened to the public in 1976. It includes three levels of exhibits, a planetarium, and an observatory. It was one of the original structures that drove the revitalization of the Baltimore Inner Harbor from its industrial roots to a thriving downtown destination. In 1987, an IMAX theater was added, but the museum continued to show its age as the end of the 20th century approached. In May 2004, a large addition to the property was opened, and the modernized hands-on exhibits now include more than two dozen dinosaur skeletons. Subjects that the center displays include physical science, space, and the human body. Maryland Science Center won a 2006 Best of Baltimore award for "Best Place to Take Kids." Harborplace is a shopping complex on the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. Description The property is composed of 2 two-story pavilions: the Pratt Street Pavilion and the Light Street Pavilion. Baltimore Water Taxis
Baltimore Water Taxi is a water taxi service offering sightseeing and transportation service mainly to points along the Baltimore Inner Harbor. History The Baltimore Water Taxi (BWT) was founded by Edward M. Kane (1931–2003), and for many years known as ''Ed Kane's Water Taxi''. In 2010 it was sold and renamed. While tourism is the traditional use of these taxis, there are increasing efforts to use them as commuter transportation. Here one of the barriers is getting from the dock to the office, and Ed Kane's was one of the first to offer extra ground transportation for this purpose. The city of Baltimore is encouraging this by subsidizing some new routes, some operated by Ed Kane's, but this has in turn been criticized as an inefficient use of taxpayer money.
