Baltic Basketball League
Baltic Basketball League (BBL) was the Baltic states basketball league founded in 2004. The league mainly focused on teams from the Baltic states, but teams from Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan, Finland, and Belarus have participated in the Baltic League. After the 2017–18 season, the league announced that it was suspending its operations. History For the 2015–16 season, the format of the BBL included a regular season composed by two groups of seven teams that competed in a round-robin competition system, with each team facing their opponent twice. The teams qualified for the eight-finals based on their ranking after the regular season. Heiko Rannula (born July 28, 1983) is an Estonian professional basketball coach and former player, who is currently a head coach for Kalev/Cramo, and an assistant for Jukka Toijala in Estonian National Team. Professional player career Heiko Rannula graduated from Tartu Karlova Gymnasium in 2001. He started training with Jüri Neissaare. He has played in the Estonian youth (U16) and junior (U20) teams. He has also been a member of the Estonian National team. Rannula is the Estonian youth champion in the U16 and U20 age classes. He became the Estonian champion with Tartu team in 2001 and 2004, in addition to winning the Estonian Cup in 2002 and 2004. He played for several Estonian basketball clubs. Aivar Kuusmaa
Aivar Kuusmaa (born 12 June 1967) is an Estonian basketball coach and former professional basketball player who played mostly at the shooting guard position. He won the USSR Premier Basketball League in 1991 as a member of the Tallinn Kalev basketball team. Kuusmaa mostly played in Estonia, but he also spent three seasons in Greece, with Panathinaikos and one season in Belgium, with Liege Basket. Also, during the service in the Soviet Army, Kuusmaa was stationed in Latvian SSR and played in the local army sports club Rīgas ASK. After retiring in 2005 he has been coaching BC Kalev/Cramo (2005–2007 & 2010–2012), TTÜ KK (2007–2010) and AVIS Utilitas Rapla (2014–2018). Rapla
Rapla (German: ''Rappel'') is a town in central Estonia, the capital of Rapla County and the centre of Rapla Parish. The oldest records date back to 1241 in the Danish Census Book, when it was said that it was a small village with 8 acres of cultivated fields. By the end of the 13th century, the village centre was firmly established. At around the same time, a Cistercian monastery was built. Rapla's ambitious period of fast growth began only in the late 19th century. In 1866, a pharmacy was built, in 1868 a school, and in 1888 a hospital. In 1898, a Brick factory was opened, and in 1900, a railway line was built between Rapla and Viljandi. The old stone church was demolished in the late 19th century and a new one was built in a Romanesque style, one of the purest examples of this style in all of Estonia.
