Baloubet Du Rouet
Baloubet du Rouet (8 May 19897 August 2017) was a horse ridden by the Brazilian show jumper Rodrigo Pessoa. He has won many international titles. Born in 1989, Baloubet du Rouet won many of the greatest international show jumping competitions, including several world cup titles and two Olympic medals with the Brazilian team. In 1999, he won the World Cup Final in Gothenburg for the second time running, a feat that had only been done by 3 horses since the start of the World Cup competitions. At the World Cup Finals in 2000, he won for a record third time. He was quite successful at a young age, when ridden by Nelson Pessoa on the French circuit, including winning the 7 year old stallion test at Fontainebleau. However, the stallion became most competitive when he became the mount of Nelson's son, Rodrigo, as a nine-year-old. 2004 he won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens, 2003 and 2005 the Top Ten in Geneva. Selle Français
The Selle Français (SF) is a breed of sport horse from France. It is renowned primarily for its success in show jumping, but many have also been successful in dressage and eventing. An athletic horse with good gaits, it is usually bay or chestnut in color. The Selle Français was created in 1958 when several French riding horse breeds were merged into one stud book. The new breed was meant to serve as a unified sport horse during a period when horses were being replaced by mechanization and were transforming into an animal used mainly for sport and leisure. Bred throughout France, the Selle Français has been exported worldwide, with additional stud books formed in Great Britain and the United States. Rantzau (1946–1971) was a French-bred racehorse that went on to be an extremely influential sire of dressage, show jumping, and event horses, and is considered to be one of the most influential stallions from the French studbook. Rantzau stood . Background and breeding Henri Tambareau purchased the Thoroughbred mare, Rancune, in 1943 for use as a broodmare. She had won several times on the racetrack, and came from good lines, including that of the famous jumping sire Bay Ronald. Rantzau's sire, Foxlight, was one of the best stallions of the French national stud Le Haras du Pin, and also had the blood of Bay Ronald in his pedigree. Show Jumping World Championships
The World Show Jumping Championships, or the show jumping competition at the FEI World Equestrian Games, was started in 1953, with individual competition. In 1978 Team competitions began, and men and women began competing against one another. From 1990, show jumping was brought together along with the other equestrian disciplines into the World Equestrian Games (WEG). They are held every four years.
