Baloncesto Profesional Colombiano (in English: Professional Colombian Basketball), currently known as the Liga WPlay de Baloncesto for sponsorship reasons, is the premier professional basketball championship in Colombia. The championship was established in 1992 and is organized by the Federación Colombiana de Baloncesto (in English: Colombian Basketball Federation). The first national semi-professional championship was called Copa Sprite, sponsored by the eponymous soda trademark. This led the participating clubs to the creation of the División Mayor del Baloncesto Colombiano. This way the first championship was created, called Copa Sprite Profesional. In this version the following teams participated: Bogotá-Doria Promasa, Valle-Sensus 2, Antioquia-Sprite, Santander-Terpel, Barranquilla-Junior y Caldas-Ron Viejo de Caldas. Basketball

Neiva
Neiva () is the capital of the Department of Huila. It is located in the valley of the Magdalena River in south central Colombia with a population of about 357,392 inhabitants. It is one of the most important cities in southern Colombia, mainly because of its strategic geographical location. Tigrillos Medellín Basket Club (in English: Medellín Tigers Basketball Club) is a Colombian basketball club based in Medellín. They play in the Baloncesto Profesional Colombiano, the top level league in Colombia. Founded in 2012 as Academia de la Montaña, home games are played in the Coliseo Iván de Bedout. Tigrillos had its best season in 2016-I, when they won their first national championship. History The team was founded on November 30, 2012, and entered the league in the 2013-I season and was among the six best teams of the leagues.
