Ballyduff Upper GAA
Ballyduff Upper GAA Club is a GAA club based in the west County Waterford village of Ballyduff, Republic of Ireland. The club has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship three times, in 1982, 1987 and most recently in 2007. While mainly a hurling club, the club has had some success in Gaelic football, winning the Waterford Senior Football Championship in 1924. Ballyduff won the 2007 Waterford Senior Championship after beating Ballygunner on a scoreline of 1-18 to 1-14. Ballyduff are the first West Waterford side to win the county championship since 1993. De La Salle Gaelic football and hurling club is based in Waterford City, Ireland. The club competes in Gaelic games competitions organised by Waterford GAA board. The club has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship twice and the Waterford Senior Football Championship on 6 occasions. While having a notable record in gaelic football, today the club mainly focuses on hurling. History The club takes its name from St. Stephens De La Salle National School in Patrick Street and previous to the current club being established, fielded a hurling team under the name of St. Stephens. Johnny Quirke
John Quirke (2 May 1911 – 24 August 1983) was an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-forward for the Cork senior team. Quirke made his first appearance for the team during the 1932 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1946 championship. During that time, he won four All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and two National League medals. Quirke was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level, Quirke was a three-time county club championship medalist with Blackrock. Quirke's sister, Dolly Leahy, was an All-Ireland medalist in camogie with Cork. Paudie Prendergast (born 26 September 1960 in Lismore, County Waterford) is an Irish former hurler who played for the Ballyduff Upper club and at senior level for the Waterford county team. Prendergast played at midfield. The closest he came to inter-county silverware was in 1989 when Waterford finished runner-up to Tipperary in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship. Patrick 'Pa' Kearney (born 16 November 1987) is an Irish sportsman. He plays hurling with his local club Ballyduff Upper and has been a member of the Waterford senior inter-county team since 2007. Playing career Club Kearney plays his club hurling with Ballyduff Upper. Kearney has had several successes with the club, including winning the Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship with the club in 2005 and the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship in 2007. Tom Feeney (hurler)
Tom Feeney (born 1974) is an Irish former hurler who played as a full-back for the Waterford senior team. Feeney joined the team during the 1993-94 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 2008 championship. During that time he won one Munster winners' medal. Feeney ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Feeney is a one-time county championship medalist with Ballyduff Upper. Stephen Molumphy
Stephen Molumphy (born 11 January 1984) is an Irish former hurler with Waterford senior hurling team and currently manager of the Kerry senior hurling team. He played for Waterford Senior Championship club Ballyduff Upper and was a member of the Waterford senior hurling team for nine seasons, during which time he usually lined out in midfield or as a left wing-forward. Playing career St. Colman's College Molumphy first came to prominence as a hurler with St. Colman's College in Fermoy. This is a list of all the past winners of the official GAA GPA All Stars Awards in hurling since the first awards in 1971. As an insight to the prominent players of the 1960s, it also includes the unofficial "Cuchulainn" awards presented from 1963 to 1967 under the auspices of ''Gaelic Weekly'' magazine. Since 1971, the All Ordinaries Awards in hurling have been presented annually to a set of fifteen hurlers from that year's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, who are seen to be deserving of being named in a "Team of the Year".
