Badminton At The 2015 Pan American Games
Badminton competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 11 to 16 at the Markham Pan Am Centre (Atos Markham Pan Am Centre) in Markham. Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of five badminton events will be held: two each for men and women, along with a mixed doubles event. Venue The competitions took at the Atos Markham Pan Am Centre (Markham Pan Am Centre) located in the city of Markham, about 31 kilometers from the athletes village. The arena had a capacity of 2,000 people per session (1,000 permanent seating + 1,000 temporary seats). The venue also hosted table tennis competitions later during the games. The venue hosted the water polo competitions, but in the other side of the centre (an Olympic sized pool). Markham Pan Am Centre
The Markham Pan Am Centre is a multi-purpose community and aquatics centre located in the new downtown area of Markham, Ontario, Canada. The facility was designed to host the badminton, table tennis and water polo events for the 2015 Pan American Games, held in nearby Toronto in July and August, 2015. The venue also hosted the table tennis competition in the 2015 Parapan American Games. During the Pan Am and Parapan American Games the venue was known as the ''Atos Markham Pan Am / Parapan American Centre''. After the 2015 Pan Am Games, the facility continues to be used as a community and competition centre for aquatics, badminton, volleyball, basketball and table tennis for Markham-area residents. Design The 13,657 square metre (147,000 sq. foot) multipurpose centre comprises three gymnasiums for training, competition and community use as well as a 10-lane, 50-metre Olympic-size swimming pool.

Badminton At The 2015 Pan American Games – Mixed Doubles
The mixed doubles badminton event at the 2015 Pan American Games will be held from July 11- 16 at the Atos Markham Pan Am Centre in Toronto. The defending Pan American Games champion is Toby Ng are Grace Gao of Canada. The athletes will be drawn into an elimination stage draw. Phillip Hung Chew (born May 16, 1994) is an American badminton player. He won two gold medals in men's and mixed doubles at the Badminton at the 2015 Pan American Games, 2015 Pan American Games. Michelle Li (born November 3, 1991) is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. Osleni Guerrero Velazco (born 18 October 1989) is a Cuban badminton player. He is the first Cuban badminton player to win a medal in the Pan American Games. Guerrero also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Career Guerrero, born in Havana, started competing in badminton in 2000, and joined the national team in 2005.
