Badalona Dracs
The Badalona Dracs (, "Badalona Dragons") are a gridiron football team based in Badalona, Catalonia. History Three American football enthusiasts got together in Badalona on a December 1987's evening to found the team. They were Pere Moliner, first president of the team, Ramón Ventura and Italian Alfonso Genchi. The team was founded as Badalona Drags. Just a few months later, the team was established and the first ever American football game played in Spain was set for March 19th, 1988. Badalona Dracs played Palermo Cardinals (Italy), with a score of 18–12 for the Italians. Later on, the first organized league in Spain was created with the Dracs joining three other teams, L'Hospitalet Pioners, Barcelona Búfals and the defunct Barcelona Boxers. Badalona (, , , ) is a Municipalities of Spain, municipality to the immediate north east of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. It is located on the left bank of the Besòs River and on the Mediterranean Sea, in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (LNFA) is the name of the top Gridiron football, gridiron league which operates in Spain. It was first founded in 1988 and reorganized in 1995 after the merge of several previous Spanish competitions. The league is run by the Spanish Federation of American Football (''Federación Española de Futbol Americano (FEFA)'' in Spanish language). At the end of the season, league champion and runner up clinch bids to compete at next year's European Football League, while third and fourth teams classify for the EFAF Cup. LNFA 2019
The 2019 LNFA season was the 25th season of American football in Spain. It began on 19 January 2019 and ended 25 May 2019 with the LNFA Bowl. Badalona Dracs successfully defended their title from the previous season, defeating Las Rozas Black Demons in the LNFA Bowl. Competition format For the 2019 season, the league was reduced to twelve teams. Valencia Giants, Santurtzi Coyotes, L'Hospitalet Pioners and Alicante Sharks declined to continue at Serie A, while Fuengirola Potros and Zaragoza Hurricanes joined the league. The teams were divided into three groups of four, according to geographical criteria. All teams play eight games during the regular season: two games (home and away) against each other team in their group, plus two inter-group games (against one team of each other group). The 2018 LNFA season is the 24th season of American football in Spain. Teams were divided into two categories, named Serie A and B. Badalona Dracs are the defending champions. LNFA Serie A Competition format changes The FEFA agreed to expand the Serie A to three groups of five teams according to geographical criteria, for reducing the economical costs for the clubs. After the resignation of runners-up Reus Imperials to continue playing the league due to financial difficulties only two days before the start of the season, the Group A was reduced to four teams. At the end of the regular season, The twelve best qualified teams overall will qualify to the playoffs while the two worst teams will play the relegation playoffs. The LNFA 2014 season was the 20th season of top-tier American football in Spain. As in the previous season, the teams were divided into two categories, renamed Serie A and Serie B, with promotion and relegation between both divisions. The 2013-14 season started on November 6, with the first game of the Spanish Cup, and finished on June 15, with the LNFA Bowl game. L'Hospitalet Pioners are the defending champions, but lost to Badalona Dracs in the semifinals. Dracs ended the season winning their sixth title. Spanish Cup Seven teams entered the competition.
