Back In The Game (2013 TV Series)
''Back in the Game'' is an American sitcom about a newly divorced single mother who has to move back home to live with her ex-minor league baseball manager father. It aired from September 25, 2013, to February 23, 2014, on ABC. The series stars James Caan and Maggie Lawson and aired during the 2013–14 American television season as a Wednesday night entry. ''Back in the Game'' was co-created and executive-produced by brothers Mark and Robb Cullen for 20th Century Fox Television. The series was green-lit by ABC for a series order pickup on May 10, 2013. On November 1, 2013, ABC announced it was cancelling ''Back in the Game''. Following its tenth aired episode, ABC pulled the series from its schedule and left three episodes unaired. On February 23, 2014, the remaining episodes were released on iTunes, Amazon and other streaming services. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. 720p (1280×720 px; also called HD ready, standard HD or just HD) is a progressive HDTV signal format with 720 horizontal lines/1280 columns and an aspect ratio (AR) of 16:9, normally known as widescreen HDTV (1.78:1). Joseph Nussbaum (born January 10, 1973) is an American film director and screenwriter. Joe Lawson is an American television writer. He is the creator and writer of the GEICO Cavemen commercials, which he created while working at The Martin Agency. He was co-executive producer and writer for ABC's short-lived ''Cavemen'', which aired from October 2, 2007 to November 13, 2007. He was also a writer and producer for the ABC comedy ''Modern Family'', which first aired on September 23, 2009. Eric Appel (born August 13, 1980) is an American filmmaker working in television, film, and commercials. Originally from Endicott, New York, Appel attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, majoring in computer animation. Describing his childhood interests, Appel said, "I was always playing around with video cameras, but I was also the kid that drew cartoons. It’s weird.
