Baby Records (Italy)
Baby Records is an Italian record label which was founded in 1974 by Freddy Naggiar. History Initially located in Piazza della Repubblica in Milan, the company later moved to new premises in Via Timavo. Naggiar signed a distribution contract with Yep and in 1975 the label got its first hit in the Italian charts with Santo California's "Tornerò". Success Over the years Baby Records signed many popular Italo disco and Electropop acts, including Den Harrow, Gazebo, Albert One, La Bionda, Pino Presti, K.I.D., Spargo, DD Sound, Kimera, Santo California, Al Bano & Romina Power, Ricchi e Poveri, Dario Farina, and others. It also released albums by Italian 1960s pop star Rosanna Fratello, albums of children's songs sang by Romina Power and I Cavalieri del Re, and instrumental music albums by American pianist and composer Stephen Schlaks and Venetian ensemble Rondò Veneziano. Ricchi E Poveri
Ricchi e Poveri (; "The Rich and The Poor") is an Italian pop group formed in Genoa in 1967, originally consisting of Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Marina Occhiena. Active since the late 1960s, they have sold over 20 million records. History 1967–1969: Formation and early years The group was created in 1967 as a polyphonic quartet by singers Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu, Franco Gatti and Marina Occhiena in 1967. All from Genoa, only Sotgiu has Sardinian roots. The band got their name from Roman songwriter Franco Califano who once joked that they were "spiritually rich and financially poor". A supergroup is a musical group whose members are successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups recorded albums together, after which they normally disband. Down Low is a rap group formed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1995 fronted by Americans Joe Thompson and Darren Tucker. Mike Dalien joined the group in 1996 since Joe and Darren had decided to go separate ways. The group is known for hits like "Johnny B. (song), Johnny B." Le Orme (Italian: "The Footprints") is an Italian progressive rock band formed in 1966 in Marghera, a ''frazione'' of Venice. The band was one of the major groups of the Italian progressive rock scene in the 1970s. They are one of few Italian rock bands to have success outside their own country, having played concerts across North America and Europe, and releasing an album in English at the height of their success. Eddy Huntington
Edward Huntington (born 29 October 1965) is an English pop singer who began his professional singing career in Italy. Huntington became popular in Europe and the former USSR mainly with his song "U.S.S.R." which peaked at No.6 in Switzerland and No. 23 in Germany. Biography and career Eddy Huntington was born in the northeast of England and moved to London at the age of 18, where he became a music video extra and model. He was discovered by Baby Records, an Italian record label that took him to Milan to record the song "USSR" written by R. Turatti, M. Chieregato and T. Hooker who also sings on refrains. Rondò Veneziano is an Italian chamber orchestra, specializing in Baroque music, playing original instruments, but incorporating a rock-style rhythm section of synthesizer, bass guitar and drums, led by ''Maestro'' Gian Piero Reverberi, who is also the principal composer of all of the original Rondò Veneziano pieces. The unusual addition of modern instruments, more suitable for jazz, combined with Reverberi's arrangements and original compositions, have resulted in lavish novel versions of classical works over the years.
