BTV Chittagong
Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong ( bn, বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন চট্টগ্রাম), branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram ( bn, বিটিভি চট্টগ্রাম), sometimes known as CTV ( bn, সিটিভি), is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh. It is the network's first and currently the only regional television station. It was launched in 1996 and initially broadcast for one and a half hour, but the broadcast schedule significantly increased over time. It broadcasts on a full-day basis daily on both terrestrial and satellite television. BTV Chittagong started broadcasting on satellite television in 2016. Pahartali ( bn, পাহাড়তলী) is a thana of Chattogram District in Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. Geography Pahartali is located at . It has a total area 8.44 km². It is bounded by Sitakunda Upazila on the north, Halishahar and Double Mooring thanas on the south, Khulshi Thana on the east, and the Bay of Bengal on the west. Demographics At the 1991 Bangladesh census, Pahartali had a population of 198,894, of whom 109,571 were aged 18 or older. Males constituted 57.45% of the population, and females 42.55%. Pahartali had an average literacy rate of 54% (7+ years), against the national average of 32.4%. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (''Bangabandhu-1'') is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite. It is named after the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 12 May 2018. The satellite was the first payload launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 launch vehicle. It was one of the first countries in South Asia to introduce television on 25 December 1964, in the then East Pakistan under the state-owned television network Pakistan Television Corporation in its capital, Dhaka. Chittagong Hill Tracts
The Chittagong Hill Tracts ( bn, পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রাম, Parbotto Chottogram), often shortened to simply the Hill Tracts and abbreviated to CHT, are group of districts within the Chittagong Division in southeastern Bangladesh, bordering India and Myanmar (Burma). Covering , they formed a single district until 1984, when they were divided into three districts: Khagrachari District, Rangamati Hill District, and Bandarban District. Topographically, the Hill Tracts are the only extensively hilly area in Bangladesh. It was historically settled by many tribal refugees from Burma Arakan in 16th century and now it is settled by the Jumma people. Today, it remains one of the least developed parts of Bangladesh.
