BSMMU
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) is a graduate medical university in Bangladesh. It was established in 1965. The university offers postgraduate degrees only, not offering undergraduate medical or dental degrees. History Establishment of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was an upgrade of the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine and Research (IPGMR). IPGMR was established in December 1965, as a Government-controlled postgraduate institute for medical research and studies. It was housed in the now defunct Hotel Shahbag, once the biggest hotel in Dhaka. The neighbourhood got its name Shahbag from the name of the hotel. Kanak Kanti Barua
Kanak Kanti Barua is a Bangladeshi neurosurgeon and academic. He has served as the 10th Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University(BSMMU). Early life and education Barua was born in 1953. He passed Secondary School Certificate from Comilla Board in 1968 and Higher Secondary Certificate from Dhaka College under Dhaka Board in 1970. He passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1977. He obtained FCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1990. Shahbag or Shahbagh (also Shahbaugh, bn, শাহবাগ, Shāhbāg, ) is a major neighbourhood and a police precinct or ''thana'' in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. Kamrul Hasan Khan
Kamrul Hasan Khan is a Bangladeshi renowned pathologist, academic and freedom fighter who served as the Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (abbreviated DMCH) is a public medical college and hospital located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It houses medical school as well as a tertiary care hospital on one campus. The country's first ever autologous bone marrow transplant took place in its bone marrow transplant unit. Pran Gopal Datta (born 1 October 1953) is a Bangladeshi physician, university administrator and politician. In September 2021, he won the candidacy of membership of Jatiya Sangsad representing the Comilla-7 constituency in a bi-election unopposed. The membership of the constituency became vacant after Ali Ashraf died in office in July 2021.
