Edenvale, Gauteng
Edenvale is a small city on the East Rand in Gauteng, South Africa. 2012 Sunshine Tour
The 2012 Sunshine Tour was the 13th season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. As usual, the tour consisted of two distinct parts, commonly referred to as the "Summer Swing" and the "Winter Swing". Tournaments held during the Summer Swing generally had much higher prize funds, attracted stronger fields and until 2012 were the only tournaments on the tour to carry world ranking points, with some events being co-sanctioned with the European Tour. The season marked the introduction of all Sunshine Tour tournaments awarding Official World Golf Ranking points, with the "Winter Swing" 72-hole events having a minimum of 6 points and the 54-hole events having a minimum of 4 points, compared with the 14 point minimum for the "Summer Swing" events. Jaco Van Zyl
Jaco Phillipus van Zyl (born 23 February 1979) is a professional golfer from South Africa. Career Van Zyl was born in Pretoria. He won the South African Amateur Championship (golf), South African Amateur in 2000 and turned professional the following year, immediately joining the Sunshine Tour. He won for the first time on the tour at the Platinum Classic in 2005. In 2007, van Zyl played on the PGA Tour, having gained his card at the 2006 qualifying school. He made the 36-hole cut only four times in 21 tournaments during his rookie season and finished 227th on the money list. In 2009, van Zyl recorded the biggest win of his career at the Telkom PGA Championship and went on to win twice more during the season and finish in 4th place on the Order of Merit. Doug McGuigan
Douglas Gordon McGuigan (born 7 August 1970) is a Scottish-South African professional golfer. He has won eight times on the Sunshine Tour between 2003 and 2017. McGuigan was born in Durban, and currently resides in Johannesburg. After winning three West Coast Tour events as an amateur, he turned professional in 1989. The 2008 Sunshine Tour was the ninth season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000, and the second since the tour switched a calendar based season in 2007. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour was based predominantly in South Africa, with 26 of the 30 tournaments being held in the country. Two events were held in Swaziland, with one each in Zambia and Namibia. There were two new tournaments, The Africa Open, which the tour hopes will become "Africa's Major" in the future, and the BMG Classic, founded by the Bearing Man Group, who wished to continue their involvement with the tour following the end of their long run as title sponsors of the Highveld Classic. Graham DeLaet
Graham DeLaet (born 22 January 1982) is a Canadian professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. He has also worked as a broadcaster for TSN. Early life DeLaet was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and grew up there and in Moose Jaw. He attended Boise State University where he won 10 collegiate tournaments. He was on the Canadian development golf team, organized by the RCGA, from 2005 to 2006, and credited this experience with improving his game.
