BC Pieno žvaigždės ( lt, Krepšinio klubas Pieno žvaigždės) is a professional basketball club from Pasvalys, Lithuania which currently plays in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). The club name comes from the main sponsor Pieno žvaigždės. History Founded in 1999, the club played its inaugural season in the now-defunct fourth-tier Lithuanian Basketball C League (LKCL). In 2001, the club gained the right to play in the third division LKBL. In 2003, the club debuted in the LKAL league and took fourth place (regular season: 19–15). The 2003–2004 LKAL season was more successful for Pieno žvaigždės as they won the regular season (regular season: 39–13). During the 2006–2007 season, Pieno žvaigždės played in the new second Lithuania basketball league, NKL, and took fifth place (regular season: 22-22). Roberts Štelmahers
Roberts Štelmahers (born November 19, 1974) is a Latvian retired professional basketball player, who played the point guard position. Štelmahers was a member of the Latvia national basketball team from 1992 to 2005 participating in four EuroBasket final tournaments in 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2005. He has played a total of 144 games for his national team. He was most recently the head coach of the ERA Nymburk of the National Basketball League. Playing career Štelmahers grew up with ASK Riga youth team, he made his debut with Rīgas ASK during the 1990–91 season. After that he signed Bonus Riga and played there till the 1994–95 championship. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. Basketball Club Neptūnas ( lt, Krepšinio klubas Neptūnas), commonly known as Neptūnas or Neptūnas Klaipėda, is a Lithuanian professional basketball team based in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The club participates in the Lithuanian Basketball League and internationally in the Champions League. It was founded in 1962 under the name BC Maistas (English: Food) and in 1964, BC Maistas's name was changed to BC Neptūnas. The club carries the name of the Roman sea god Neptune. 2014–15 LKL Season
The 2014–15 Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was the 22nd season of the top-tier level professional basketball league of Lithuania, the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL). The season started in October 2014, and finished in June 2015. Žalgiris won its 17th title, the fifth in a row. Competition format Regular season During the regular season, all teams played 40 games. Playoff round The top eight teams in the regular season round joined the playoffs in the quarterfinals, that were played in a best-of-three games format. The semifinals were also played in this format. The final round was played between the two winners of the semifinals. Basketball Club Žalgiris ( lt, Krepšinio klubas Žalgiris) is a professional basketball team that is based in Kaunas, Lithuania, and competes domestically in the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL, Lithuanian Basketball League).
